     So why couldn’t Gabi get in touch with the police and tell them he attacked her? After all all of SP saw them fighting. Better yet Kate and Sami COULD say that they saw it happen. NO–that would be too easy!! Talk about a disaster waiting to happen.

     Exactly.  Nick is a murderer as well as someone who has become obsessed with and assaulted a woman in the past.  After everyone witnessed her breaking up with him in the town square would it really be that hard to claim self defense?  Totally ridiculous that Sami and Kate would chose to cover up this attempted murder rather than say they stumbled on am attempted rape.
