The Ravens continue their last moment crazy heroics. A 61 yard field goal to win – are you kidding?! I hope you didn’t re-break your arm celebrating! Your nerves though must be shot. The Ravs certainly have my admiration.
December 17, 2013 at 4:18 pm #42020PattiParticipantJustin Tucker is a powerful weapon to have on our side, but kicking that 61-yarder to win the game just about blew my mind. I tell you, I’ve learned never to count the Ravens out, especially in December. You’re right, though, I don’t know how much more action my poor arm could have taken last night, between the cheers as well as the jeers. That last field goal almost sent it flying through my basement ceiling. Also, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for Joe Flacco, but he seems to have everyone convinced that he’s just fine and ready to take on the Patriots at home next week. Amazing that we could, conceivably, win our Division again this year. Thanks, casey, for recognizing our team and their wins are not just a ‘fluke’ — we just refuse to give up and seem to find a way to get it done, year after year.
GOOOOOOOOO RAVENS!!!!!
December 17, 2013 at 5:44 pm #42023bluebonnetParticipantformer University of Texas Longhorn!
December 23, 2013 at 1:08 am #42084PattiParticipantI don’t know who that was showing up today to play the Patriots, but it sure as heck wasn’t the Ravens I know and love. Very disappointing loss; BUT, we still have one chance left, even though it’s a sliver of one. 4 good teams vying for one spot left. Still, keeping my fingers crossed.
December 24, 2013 at 1:46 pm #42087caseyParticipantto make opponents look bad. But look around the league and see the top teams losing big to those they should crush. Plus the Ravs have played some back to back intense games. I think they were due for a letdown.
The way the season is going don’t count out your guys yet.
December 29, 2013 at 11:28 pm #42129PattiParticipantMy Ravens blow their last chance for 6 years straight to make the playoffs by losing to Cincinnati today. I had high hopes when we tied the game at 17-17; however, it was not to be. My purple heart is bleeding!
December 30, 2013 at 1:31 pm #42134caseyParticipantshowed resilience and made a season of it right til the last game. But they had their own destiny in their hands and couldn’t get past Dalton & Co. I think the Ravs did well considering all those key personel losses. It was nice to see so many teams in it right til the end.
December 30, 2013 at 2:44 pm #42135goodolddaysParticipantAlthough it was my Steelers own fault that they missed the playoffs, we all got our hopes up when everything seemed to fall into place to get us into the wild card – we won, Ravens lost, Dolphins lost, Chargers were losing……….only to have them win in overtime and get the spot. UGH!
December 30, 2013 at 11:08 pm #42139caseyParticipantKansas City should have had a second try on their missed field goal as there was a blatant foul on SD that wasn’t called.
December 30, 2013 at 11:47 pm #42142PattiParticipantthey weren’t lined up correctly. I’m not a Steelers fan because of our on-going rivalry, but that was wrong, and I agree the foul should have been called. Certainly not the first time a bad call cost a team the game.
January 11, 2014 at 11:27 pm #42327caseyParticipantnow that the Ravens aren’t in it?
January 12, 2014 at 2:28 pm #42328PattiParticipantto beat the Saints (mainly because I have no respect for Sean Payton as a head coach) and, as much as I dislike their ORIGINAL team leaving Baltimore, I’m still going to root for the Colts tonight (mainly because I never root for the Patriots…LOL). I still enjoy watching the playoffs, even though our Ravens didn’t make it this year (truthfully, I didn’t expect them to).
Whoops, I may have spoken too soon….the Saints just made it a one score game.
Tomorrow’s games are a no-brainer for me. As much as I like the Panthers, I have to keep my cheering section in the Ravens’ family of coaches and root for Jim Harbaugh’s 49’ers to take that game.
The Broncos are my pick to win it all; however, Manning doesn’t have great success in advancing in the playoffs, and I must say I do like the heck out of Philip Rivers and the Chargers. Tough choice for me there.
January 12, 2014 at 2:39 pm #42330PattiParticipantwhich I honestly don’t care about, I will be rooting for my other picks, with the exception of the Patriots, who, like the Steelers, I would never consider rooting for anyway (LOL), unless, of course, I needed their win/loss for the Ravens to get in.
GO 49ERS!!!!
BRONCOS/CHARGERS STILL A TOSS-UP FOR ME!January 12, 2014 at 6:03 pm #42331maxineParticipantGo Broncos today !!, I think we got this one, The Chargers came to our house 4 weeks ago and kicked our butts, I do not think that will happen again, I am thinking and hoping that the end game will be Seahawks and the Broncos for the super bowl …. Seahawks is a very good team ( one of my 4 fav teams) but sometimes when Manning get out of his rhythm ( ?? msp) he looses his Mojo and it throws the entire team off , but I think we have the Chargers number this time, so Patti Cheer for the Broncos ..( I cheered for the Ravens last year even though they beat us) .. smile … Have a good Sunday.
January 12, 2014 at 7:41 pm #42333PattiParticipantbut this is the only match-up I seem to be torn with, because I have a lot of respect for the chargers this year, and as a fan I’m a QB’s delight, and although I think Peyton Manning deserves it this year, I have a huge admiration for Philip Rivers, too. Don’t get me wrong, I have believed from the beginning of the season when Peyton and the Broncos made us (the Ravens) look like a high-school team that this was going to be a great year for the Broncos, and I think I even posted that in a message directly to you in that regard. Tough teams this year —- but with so many new players on our offense, defense and special teams, we couldn’t gel as a team …. but look out for us next year. LOL! Good luck to everyone still alive in the playoffs!!!
