I note a lot of names on this forum that never contribute. I would love to see more Days fans join the conversation. As much as I look forward to reading posts from all the "regulars," more opinions would only add to the experience that is Salem Place. So please don’t hesitate to bring on your invaluable "two cents!"
I rarely comment on the threads in the forum because I am most times a few days to a week behind. By the time I catch up it just seems like a moot point to comment. I do however enjoy reading everyone elses comments.
as much as I love our regular posters, we all seem to know one another so well, our likes, dislikes, favorite couples, favorite villains, etc…. Guess that’s why it’s always the same ones butting heads from time to time. LOL! It would be so nice to see some new points of view for a change. So, please join us.
DeeBaby, it doesn’t matter if you’re behind, we’d still like to see what you have to say and your opinion on things. Like Patti said, we need someone new to butt heads with. :o) Just kidding…
So, come on all you lurkers, 2014 is the time to come out of hiding and tell us what you think about this stuff.
I don’t comment a lot either, but I do read regularly. I don’t get to watch the show very often and this forum help keep me caught up. I will try to post more often. I am 47 years old and have been watching this show for as long as I can remember. Used to watch it with my grandmother. My favorite couple right now would have to be EJ and Sami and I really hate that they stuck Abby in the middle of them. I would like for Hope to have a love interest and I would like for Roman to have a love interest. I’m just not into watching all the newbies on there and I guess that’s because I have watched for so long, I just want to see good storylines for the oldies.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, where we are 3 years behind on the US shows. I discovered Days when I started university here, in 1998. Back then, it was the height of the Carrie/Sami/Austin triangle, and I got hooked. I started watching regularly but it wasn’t enough. I then went online and little by little, I caught up with the US by reading recaps on websites. So to me, Days is more like a book with characters than a proper soap these days.
When I read something that I think will spark my interest, I will go and watch it on YouTube. To decide what to watch, I use the recaps but also this board (please do not hesitate to point out a scene that is definitely worth watching!). I registered on the old board about 2 years before we switched to this new format, and I’ve been reading you all for a good few years now. As a result, I know which one of you will like such and such characters, and I really like the lively debate between you. Patti, Bonbon, when I see the two of you start discussing EJ and Sami, I almost reach for the popcorn!
Character-wise, I love Sami, Nicole, and Eric (I did make time to watch the entire 2 weeks during and after the Brady/Kristen wedding). This whole Sami/Kate/Gabi killed Nick storyline is fantastic, involving all characters like that. Brady is just what South Africans call a "doos", i.e. a box (an empty one, that is). Great actors, some greater than others, but hey, it all makes for a great show.
It does feel like a community here. I have thouroughly enjoyed the discussions, and the board is part of my daily online routine.

thanks to you, casey. What a terrific idea that was. Hope the new members keep posting, along with others. Meanwhile, I want to personally welcome DeeBaby, robertawcats and barbs974 to our little Salem Place family. I hope you enjoy being with us on a daily basis, or at least from time to time, as much as we will enjoy seeing you here. Yes indeed, I am a HUGE EJAMI fan, unlike many of our regular posters, but hey, we’re human….we can’t help who we like….or not. Anyway, welcome to our world, new friends.
Well, I make it home for the last 15 min of the show if I’m lucky, and from what I saw this week, it was all the blow-up after Parker’s baptism (baptism took place just before Christmas, before I went home). Stephanie and Melanie fought and Mel fell to the ground, yada yada yada. I can’t be bothered with that storyoline.
On the Sami/Rafe/EJ front, Johnny has just had his eye operation, on the day EJ was supposed to marry Nicole.
And we’re also still lucky enough to have Bo and Hope together, in the middle of that organ donor storyline, which I think means the whole mess that is Daniel and Jen should start soon.
Here we go, a little flashback for you!
I started working full time this year and I’m always behind, but I love this board and comment when I can. Even if you’re behind like me, comments are always welcome here.
I record the program everyday, but never watch. Would rather read about it here to see what is happening in Salem. I got so frustrated with some of the storyline, that I couldn’t enjoy the parts I cared about. Once I quit it is hard to go back, but I haven’t given it up completely. I couldn’t live without my daily dose of Salem Place and your wonderful insights and witty comments. So you all, please keep up the good work, the DOL writers have let me down.
