I want to see Maggie fall off the wagon. Big time. Maybe they could kill off Sarah or Melissa since they are pretty much off the show now. This sends Maggie to the bottle and forces a whole slew of others to work together to help her. It brings Dan and Jennifer together, Brady cleans up his act to help. Even Marlena forgives Victor as they work to help her. If done right it could be extremely compelling. Alas, the writers probably won’t do that.

But Maggie’s intense effort to get Brady help – ala asking Nicole to talk to him – seems naive. Everything I’ve heard about an addict is a "tough love" approach and that you have to fnid your own rock bottom to seek help. A friend trying to convince you won’t work.
But I fully agree that this show needs more intensity. That’s why I’d like to see Brady go to the harrowing depths of addiction.
January 13, 2014 at 10:52 pm #42342PattiParticipantespecially him not being a Brady or a DiMera, is another ridiculous plot point to possibly get him involved romantically with that “bottom of the barrel” *itch, Theresa, and that makes me hate it even more. Between Theresa’s blackmail of JJ, her comradery with that other no storyline troublemaker, Anne, her obsession with Daniel, and her unreasonable hatred of Jen just makes me wish that she would meet some horrible fate, like death. Anything that will take her off my screen is fine with me. As for Brady Black, I’m hoping John’s return will provide his salvation at some point. I like that Maggie is trying her best to help Brady, but I don’t think Nicole will be the one to do it. These writers are too far along now with the Eric/Nicole s/l, plus she knows that Brady is on to her own addiction with Eric.

She is beloved, no one would believe it at first. Victor would feel helpless. It would have far reaching affects on Bradys and Hortons. And Suzanne Rogers can chew up some scenery I’m sure. I think it’s a great idea. Much better than Caroline’s sometimes Alzhiemers. Of course I’m biased because it’s my idea!

January 14, 2014 at 2:50 am #42345majencoParticipantI wish they cared as much as we do.

As for Brady getting together with that skank Teresa, please!!! Don’t go there. Hasn’t Brady had enough tragedy in his love life to last a lifetime? The only way I could possibly buy that would be if it would redeem Teresa in the process. Although I don’t know if I could ever stomach her, redeemed or not. Although, again, I didn’t think I’d ever like the original Brady or even JJ but he’s warming for me now. I thought his scene with Dan yesterday was excellent. And the look on his face when he saw the WW (wicked witch) was priceless.
