Hey Hope – parent your child!!! Plain and simple.
Was it insane for Sami to buy her all those earrings? Of course. HOWEVER – she is "fun" cousin Sami and cousins, grandparents, aunts etc. can indulge. It’s allowed. Was it excessive – absolutely!!! But it is NOT Sami’s job to ensure that Ciara learns values and teaches her things. You are the Mom – PARENT YOUR CHILD!!!
It works my nerve when I hear/see parents have others do their job like when you see a parent say "Honey – sit down or the man is gonna yell at you." No – I am not gonna yell at her – it’s your friggin kid!!!
Hope – you’re a Horton. Quit your job (you have money), parent your child and move on with your life. Seriously – Hope is super weak. She makes it seem as though she’s the only "single parent" in the world. RIDIC!!!
Actually, I thought Hope lost all her money during the finanical stock market.
Hope has never been strong– she has always counted on Daddy, Bo, Gram Horton, Gramma Brady, Jennifer and others.
She loves her job and doubt that she would want to be home. Besides, many single moms work full time and still manage to raise well behaved children.
Ciara has always fancied herself as very special and is using Bo’s absence for her own gain.
As far as Sami goes, she is a push over and should have insisted that they go for the less expensive one. Hope should have made Ciara give them back to Sami not to charity.
and the bigger picture for Hope should be, I would think, is why would Ciera demand 10 pair of earrings in exchange for returning the one pair to their rightful owner. If her mother is raising her to be such a respectful and honest young woman why didn’t Hope bring down the hammer on the humongous reward Ciera was demanding in return for doing the right thing in the first place?
several threads back. Hope could and should have nipped this whole thing in the bud by telling Ciera and Sami one pair of earrings only. Hope seems so scared to discipline Ciera or set limits for her in any way. She just keeps thinking "poor Ciera" to be without a dad. Ciera surely is milking this for all its worth.
did snippy Ciara demand 10 pairs, or was it Sami who offered to buy her 10 pairs of earrings for being so grateful to get back her own $60,000 one. Of course, Ciara agreed IIRC, she even told Nick that Sami had a lot of money and she could afford it. That’s also why Ciara insisted they come from Baron’s (sp?). She knew they would have to be the “real deal” and very expensive. This kid has all the prospects of one day becoming a serial killer. LOL!
she does seem to lack the discipline skills most of us have, regarding her child. She could be a loving parent while still insisting on some moral principles from Ciara. I hope she realizes this soon, because I dread to think of Ciara growing up to be a kleptomaniac.
but either way the blame goes to Ciera if she demanded 10 pairs or if Sami was forced to offer her 10 pairs because Ciera was unwilling to return the earrings to the rightful owner. Whichever way it went down Ciera was obviously not going to do the right thing without reward. Which puts it back to Hope who should have told her in the first place that the earrings were not hers and they deserved to go to the rightful owner. Instead some rescue or homeless mission is going to be the proud recipient of however many dollars worth of high end jewelry that they will have to try to sell or raffle off in order to make them useful. Dumb Hope, she should have returned them and told Sami to make a cash donation in Ciera’s name.
Sami said to Ciera, “I will buy you 10 pairs of earrings…” when she was trying to get her to return the earring to Sami so Ciera is innocent when it comes to that. And I don’t believe Hope was aware that Sami way going to buy her ten pairs.
Actually, I’m enjoying this little girl acting like a common thug. IRL it wouldn’t be that funny but I love the way she’s pulling it off. I’m afraid she is going to turn out to be quite a handful for Hope and Aiden is going to be spot on with this opinion of her.
Of course, Hope has no backbone when it comes to her discipline. She reminds me of so many parents these days who are so fearful of “crushing” the poor little thing’s self-image that they don’t seem to be able to (or just plain won’t!) use the word “no.”
