Just saw this on Facebook from Ali Sweeney.

I’ve read the gossip, the rumors, the out-of-control fans who directly write to, email, twitter, etc., the actors on behalf of their disappointment in a particular actor because of their dedication to their fanbase, and honestly, in most cases I don’t believe the actors really care all that much; they know they are doing a job, being paid very damn well for it, and they must do and say what they are told to do and say, or hit the road; so, I guess I’m a little skeptical of an actor/actress with the huge career, in this case, Alison Sweeney, to take a stand on message board posts. I would also have to ask, how does she find the time to even read them let alone comment on them? LOL. As usual, JMHO.

March 26, 2010 at 9:40 pm #11587SWParticipantis tweeting, posting on FB, etc. So, yes, I’d bet it is really her doing it. Supposedly she encouraged her co–stars to also do it. I also remember a time when she posted on the Salem Place board. It was a time when Nancy Lewis was working at Days and posting here all the time too. She said that Alison read the boards all the time. I think she’s really into the tech stuff.
March 30, 2010 at 3:47 am #1162653tdogsParticipantabout Sami – I love Alison. She is a great actress and can really carry off the range of emotions that the show has put her through the last 15 years or so. Sami though, drives me up the wall at times and I wish after 15 something years that the writers would truly let her grow up.
She saw John and Marlena on the conf. room table when she was 15/16 and obsessed about that for years and years. And say that she had Will when she was 18 years old, then Sami should be about 36 years old. She has four children, it’s time to let her grow up already, either that or she can’t mature because she has some mental abonormality/anomoly in her makeup that Marlena never diagnosed in her own child.
March 30, 2010 at 1:25 pm #11631drea4713ParticipantI know to work in a creative field you have to be able to take criticism, but it would be hard for me not to take things personally after a while, so I could see where she got her feelings hurt.
I think the Sami character has evolved a lot since I started watching, which is when she was using being raped by Alan to get to Austin. She actually thinks about other people now, and I can’t remember the last time she was scheming to get/keep a man. I think it’s unfair to say she hasn’t grown up at all. I think her character has taken on a much different role in the last few years and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching. Sami is probably my favorite character on the show, and while I was disappointed when Lumi didn’t work out, I knew that’s just soaps and something else would come along. I am really enjoying watching her have men to choose from rather than so desperate to hold onto.
I wasn’t really excited to see a possible Ejami match since he raped her, but they do have a lot of chemistry and it’s possible to believe that people can change. I hate what he did to her recently with the kidnapping of Sydney, and I hope he gets nailed for it (although I don’t think he will), but James Scott is such an incredible actor, one of the best Days has ever had IMO, that he can really do anything the writers throw at him. Personally, I am rooting for Safe, but it’s kind of fun to see the turmoil and animosity between EJ/Sami/Rafe. The three of them really play their scenes really well.
I was really excited when Alison took over the hosting duties for the Biggest Loser. I think her sweet personality really benefited that show. I can’t imagine how she balances her work/personal life, though!
BTW…I thought I saw Bryan’s last air date, but did they ever tell us what happened to Lucas? The last I remember was him at Philip’s wedding, and then we never saw him again. ??? I do wish they would have tied that up a little better, especially considering he has 2 kids on screen. Are we to believe they still see him, but he’s not talked about? Or did he run off and leave them?
March 30, 2010 at 2:36 pm #11633PattiParticipantand that’s par for the course lately, especially with the vets. I do know, however, that he will be returning for Alice’s passing storyline. Some of the vets, I’ve read, will be staying for a while; some as much as ten episodes or so. I hope Bryan Dattilo is one of them. I really miss Lucas.
