If Carly had just left Daniel and Melanie alone as Melanie asked, none of the events leading to Daniel’s accident would have happenned. Evil Carly strikes again.
Goody
March 30, 2010 at 6:38 pm #11640shadowParticipantdoesn’t Carly listen to what Melanie is saying. She(Melanie) doesn’t want anything to do with her, yet she just keeps on pushing and pushing herself on Melanie. I think the woman is crazier than we thought. Kinda reminds me of Vivian. She lied again to Melanie when she told her she had been searching for her all those years.
Also, I am SICK of seeing her(Carly) face everyday.
After the conversations yesterday, I can see Carly causing BIG problems for Daniel and Chloe. That’s when I will throw something at my TV. She has caused enough trouble since she came. It is time for her to leave!!!!
March 31, 2010 at 10:50 am #11645June66watcherParticipantTalk about projecting the future! After watching yesterday’s show, I was livid… why didn’t anyone call Chloe immediately? And Dan’s first conversation upon waking up wasn’t to ask where is Chloe! It doesn’t appear as if Carly is after Dr. Dan at the moment but I can totally see what’s coming based on Victor’s concerns from yesterday; based on Adrienne’s return to Salem; based on Julie’s conversation with Hope.
March 31, 2010 at 11:32 am #11648luckeyParticipantstory lines over the years; but, I have to say that I don’t recall so many of them being plot-driven all at the same time. There are so many characters doing things that are so ridiculous and out-of-character. Julie’s conversation with Hope a few days ago really bothered me as I watched Hope’s emotions. She’s all of a sudden pining for Bo, when not so long ago she was totally ticked off and concluded that she and Bo are over. Personally, that would be okay with me. How are the viewers supposed to have watched Carly and Bo rolling around in bed playing suck face and then totally accept Bope getting back together…not this viewer! It looks like that’s what is going to happen now that they are pushing Carly toward Daniel. Is this supposed to be the way the writers get Bope back together to satisfy the majority of the viewers? Just wait, I can see the whole reconciliation thing taking place in one episode with no timeframe to get them struggling to get back to husband and wife. And to think this whole thing has been going on while they are still married! Neither one of them has done anything to end the marriage, even though Bo has been telling Carly that he loves her! I’m not looking forward to more of this trainwreck!
March 31, 2010 at 1:11 pm #11654caseyParticipantRedeem Carly? I never got how/why she turned into a character we’ve despised, unless it was the writers’ way to tear her down to build her up again by putting together a family unit.
Maybe same with Bo? Yes, SO plot-driven, but it seems the M.O. for this current writing staff.
BTW, I did like how Mel called Dan “Dad” yesterday.March 31, 2010 at 1:48 pm #11657PattiParticipantand see a major reformation of that individual. Perfect examples, IMO, are E. J. and Stefano. I don’t even recognize them anymore. We can all say it…..’there was a time when Stefano, or E.J.,"……. well, you get what I mean, and that goes for most of the characters in major story lines right now, with Bo at the top of my list. Who is this guy and what has he done with the real Beauregard Brady? And, I practically gag watching Phillip these days. I don’t like what these writers are doing to Chloe and Dan either. It’s okay if Dan and Melanie get together and learn from each other and about each other, all the while forming the father/daughter bond that they both deserve. They have been robbed of that by Carly Manning, who decided to take it upon herself to play God with their lives. However, I see no reason why either of them should forgive her for keeping them apart. The Carly character has been completely disassembled from the old Carly Manning, and reshaped into this hateful interloper who, quite frankly, and understandably so, is despised now by I would say at least 85-90% of the viewers. I could go right down the list with every character, from A-Z, but you all know what I’m saying. I will never understand, for the life of me as a die-hard DOOL fan from it’s beginning, how Ken Corday has allowed Dena Higley and her staff to obliterate these characters to the point of non-recognition. You had better watch yourself, KC. No matter how much you like her, DH is ruining these characters thd thereby dumping your/our show, into a black hole it may never be able to climb out of if she is not stopped….NOW.
March 31, 2010 at 5:44 pm #1166853tdogsParticipantmight long for the DAYS of JER…and his story lines (gulp and yuck)…but can we bring JER back from the dead? I’m sorry…I just had to say that…after all he did it a lot!
March 31, 2010 at 8:27 pm #11676SWParticipantwere you a Passions’ watcher during the last year of that show? If you weren’t then you probably don’t know the kind of bizarre stuff he he wrote. It makes every villian on Days look normal compared to some of the characters on Passions at the end. Plus, JER never let couples be happy!
March 31, 2010 at 9:57 pm #11683PattiParticipantif I wanted to watch JER’s work again, I’d just tune into the Sci-Fi channel every day.
March 31, 2010 at 10:22 pm #1168453tdogsParticipantLet me clarify – I was being facetious folks…no matter how bad the writing is now is what I was commenting on…it could be worse if JER was still writing for the show and besides – he can never-ever-never write for Days again…
March 31, 2010 at 11:14 pm #11685SWParticipantcommenting on how out there his stuff was?
Sorry I missed the facetious comment. JER is still a sore subject where I’m concerned! lol
April 1, 2010 at 3:33 am #1168653tdogsParticipanteven more glad than you that JER doesn’t write for our show anymore…I detested the SL’s he wrote also – what I meant to say (badly) was that I’m not really liking the writing that they are doing for the show in most of the story lines now are not much better than JER’s stuff (other than they don’t have the weirdness his did). The SL’s are repetative with the same theme over and over and over – "Triangles".
To expand a bit: It seems as if the current writer’s only know how to write about triangles (sans kidnapping story) of couples or else making our tried and true blue charater’s turn out to be louses.
We don’t have the great stay together through-heck-and-high-water couples that we had with the John and Marlena’s, Micky and Maggie’s, Tom and Alice’s, not even Bo and Hope’s anymore (and yes, they too all had their trials and tribulations as couples).
However, most of the character’s in a main story line are now either thinking of someone else, being with someone else, wishing to be with someone else, or getting fooled into being in a relationship with someone else. Not even Arianna and Brady are safe. I think there’s something in the water in Salem.
April 1, 2010 at 9:11 am #11687SWParticipantgreat stay together through ‘heck-and-high water’ couples. Maybe they are reflecting on society and how few of those couples (especially in California movie industry) still exist? The number of celebs out there that are cheating on their spouses, only hook-up for a short time and move on, etc.?
April 1, 2010 at 1:01 pm #11688PattiParticipantwatching James Reilly’s work was like watching science fiction; cloning, bringing back the dead, that type of thing; I hope we never see that kind of crap again.
April 1, 2010 at 3:53 pm #11698DeeLanParticipantI agree they’re reflecting on society’s actions but people watch soaps for an escape. Use to be a couple went through trials and tribulations and remained true, they worked through them and there were fairy tale relationships. Maybe society has gotten away from that type of thing but if you look at the success of the movies out there people still want to see that.
I remember when Alice was making donuts to break Roman out of jail, helping Bo and Howie to sabotage Hope and Larry’s wedding. Tom was upset but stood by her through it all. When Alice thought Tom was having an affair when he was really reciting poetry in a coffee house, she didn’t leave him but stuck by him. Those are the relationships I want to see. Not the ones where a little rough patch and one if not both are jumping in the sack with someone else.
