What a crock that he had sex with Nicole. It makes no sense. His faith means so much to him and he didn’t want to have sex before marriage and then bam! Nicole cried so….they have sex. It is another lame plot device that destroys his character.
I don’t care what you say, sometimes you just can’t fight nature. That’s why I think celibacy is such a ridiculous practice. That’s almost like telling a man he shouldn’t breathe.
I don’t find it at all surprising that Eric gave in. I just thought there should have been a tad more angst over it first.
I agree about celibacy, but Eric was adamant about it. I really think he should’ve at least given it a bit of thought.
Nicole had told him the truth before she enticed him to sleep with her? I don’t!! The only reason he did was because he truly believed the Church would not allow him to remain a priest, say mass, teach, or have anything to do with his vocation. He thought it was a sign from God (certainly not Nicole’s) to leave the Church.
when a church ceremony wasn’t possible. I think he feels everything sacred fell apart and he’s acting that out now. He’s gonna be one messed up dude when the truth comes out.
