Starting a new thread to correct the title if nothing else.
Well, Kate finally bit the dust. I’m so very disappointed in her. I’ve been rooting for her all the way back from when she and Jon first split up but I have to say, I’m beginning to see what so many others saw from the beginning. Her demeanor throughout has been so very inappropriate and she couldn’t even come out with any thanks to Tony, to the show for having her, to the people for voting for her, or anything any normal person would have mentioned. So sad, so very sad. She could have been so much more. Apparently she’s not the hero underneath I was hoping for. And I feel so sorry for Tony. He’s such a sweetheard and deserved so much better.
April 21, 2010 at 1:23 pm #12297PattiParticipantto have even been a contestant on DWTS. If you can’t learn something from Tony, you can’t be taught….period.
April 21, 2010 at 3:59 pm #12301GoodyParticipantKate has always had to be in control – it is her way or no way!
Goody
April 27, 2010 at 1:42 pm #12461caseyParticipantI don’t get it. I’m not talking just DWTS but she’s always plastered over tv and the tabloids. She and John are ridiculously uninteresting if you ask me.
April 27, 2010 at 2:26 pm #12463BonbonParticipantwho ARE interested in her life. I am one of those. I’ve watched Jon and Kate + 8 since the beginning and, just like the soaps, you become invested in their lives. While I never thought Kate was the best wife in the world, I though she did an excellent job with the kids. She always put their well-being first (which may be why the marriage failed) and, IMO, was a good mother.
And then everything falls apart, with no visable means of support for her family, and the expensive lifestyle they became accustomed to. Then Jon starts whoring around and it gets plastered all over the place. I mean, anybody with a half an ounce of empathy would be concerned for her. She’s a nurse, how is she going to provide for eight kids on a nurse’s salary with her ex unemployed (and probably most probably, unemployable).
I was rooting for her because I knew being on the show could build her self-esteem, make her some money, and possibly put her on the road to show business which would provide them with a reasonable income. But I was sorely disappointed. I just don’t think she has what it takes. Maybe her new show on TLC will make it. She seems to do a good job with the cameras being around her so…we’ll see.
April 27, 2010 at 2:42 pm #12465PattiParticipantI don’t think he deserved the criticism he got for his Samba. The judges are all leaning toward Nicole, and although she is a good dancer and will probably win it, I thought the judges were harsh on Evan last night. I think the one to go home tonight should be, in my opinion, the over-sexed, over-rated Pamela Anderson. This woman just grates on my nerves.
April 27, 2010 at 3:39 pm #12469BonbonParticipantAll she does is stand there and "pose." She’s probably an okay dancer but just looking at her makes me want to barf. I say…"Off with her head!"
April 28, 2010 at 11:14 am #12506BonbonParticipantIt said the ratings dropped a good amount when Kate was voted off. I guess they make a good choice when they picked her to dance. DWTS has been the top rated show the last four weeks, even beating out AI. I wonder what will happen now. Now Jake is gone and I think Neicey will be next (although I thought before it would be Pamela).
May 4, 2010 at 1:54 pm #12675PattiParticipantSo glad to see him get a perfect score last night; he deserved it. I’m sick of Nicole and Derrick stealing all his thunder. He’s every bit as good as her, and last night the judges finally acknowledged it. Sorry, but Pamela Anderson seems to be getting a little better and a little less disgusting. I have a feeling it will be Niece leaving tonight, but you never know.
May 4, 2010 at 2:27 pm #12676annieoParticipantI really enjoyed the cha-cha groups. It amazes me how they can pull these things together in such a small period of time. What is anyone’s opinion of the new co-hostesses? I’m not sure I care for her. She seems to ask the most obvious questions – like "you both just received a score of 5. How do you feel about it?" What are they supposed to answer "Oh, I’m so thrilled." Do you suppose she makes this up on her own or is it being written for her? They just seem like dumb questions.
May 4, 2010 at 3:44 pm #12677caseyParticipantKudos to him after taking the prior criticism and working his way to a perfect score with that tango. What a joy to watch.
People may be interested in Kate’s life but as a dancer she is most definitely not.May 4, 2010 at 4:10 pm #12678BonbonParticipantShe danced with Derek Hough. I like her okay. She explained one night that when she’s on the floor with Tom, what they say is scripted, but when she’s with the dancers in the Celebriquarium, she’s on her own with her questions and comments. That takes a lot of talent to be able to do that when you don’t have that kind of background.
I used to really like Samantha Harris until I saw so much of her on The Insider. Now I think she’s somewhat of a little bitch. What a shame to ruin my image and opinion of her on that trashy show.
As to who’s going tonight, yeah, I think Niecy too. I agree with Patti that Pamela is becoming less repulsive to me too and seems to be a pretty decent dancer. But, if Niecy goes tonight, it’ll be Pam next week, then Ochocinco (LOVE that name!), then it’s anybody’s guess. Personally, I think Nicole will win it…especially after two judges saying she’s the best dancer they’ve ever had on the show.
May 5, 2010 at 11:18 am #12693BonbonParticipantCan you believe Maks and Erin being in the bottom two? W-T-H!!! I should think Maks alone would have enough fans to keep them going to the finals.
And I really thought Niecy would go next (I think she did too) but I’m not unhappy it was Pam. She was very gracious about it which surprised me somewhat. Maybe she’s not the person some of us think.
I’m more convinced than ever that Nicole will win it all. Evan hasn’t done the Paso Doble yet and I think his lyrical intreptations will do him in on that one. You could see how he was struggling to be more forceful on the Tango.
May 6, 2010 at 1:15 pm #12727PattiParticipantbut I tend to believe his partners are more than intimidated by him; they’re downright pi$$ed at him most of the time. He can be overbearing, but I think it’s only because he strives for perfection in a partner he knows has the capabilities to do better. I think Erin is terrific, and well suited to Max. I am surprised that it was Pamela who went home and not Neicy, but Neicy’s infectious personality could have a lot to do with her staying power, although she does keep up well for a larger woman. People have grown to love her wit and the fact that she laughs at herself with regard to her eating habits and her weight, which makes her even more lovable. I don’t think she will compete quite as easily with the rest of the finalists now, though.
