I can see that Emily O’Brien is capable of playing the role of Theresa Donovan, given the character that she had played in the campy horror-comedy My Dad is a Vampire, but Lilley’s speech pattern is a mixture of W&G’s Karen Walker, Minnie Mouse & MTM’s Georgette Baxter, you tell me as to how it wouldn’t be off-putting by having O’Brien stepping into the role, if they go there, given that she might not be able to have the talents to pull off Lilley’s speech pattern, so is it a wise move to go there for O’Brien to step into that role? Like for instance, with the live version of Little Shop of Horrors, look at how Levi Stubbs pulled off the voice of Audrey II, don’t you think that it would be cringeworthy in hearing Richard Simmons on helium once they have Billy Porter to voice TLSOH’s Audrey II.
