I do admit that I did love the episode. But Fiction should remain fiction. Allow the actors to play the characters, not to have their characters to break the fourth wall by bringing the 20th & 21st century into it. Soaps are an escape, Soaps entertain, allow the viewers to watch the skullduggery, the suspense, the intrigue & drama. Look at what went down with Nicole & Sloan, look at what played out with Chad & Everett in the park, Paulina’s losing speech due to her health issues, Chad seeing how Everett’s effects from his one-time-coma was affecting him. So what I’m getting at is what’s wrong with allowing fiction being fiction? I know that Greg Rikaart knows about Bayard Rustin, I get that, but where’s the story as to how “Leo Stark” knows of him, how does the character of Paulina, Chanel, Johnny knowing about Martin Luther King, because when they incorporate this into the world of fiction, people would question as how these characters knows of real life people, such has Civil Rights Activists, I.E., Bayard & MLK, all I’m getting at is that people want to see their respective soaps, being their respective soaps, right?
My opinion is that instead of making a subtle point, the majority of the episode felt very scolding to the viewers. I did like the interaction of characters yesterday, why don’t we have that more often. I liked Johnny and Channel with Rafe and Jada. I liked seeing Chad, Leo, and Everett being civil and talking with each other. They could have those interactions every day on the show. I was actually hoping that with it being Abe’s and Paulina’s anniversary, that he would get his memory back. At this point, I don’t think that’s going to happen.
