I gotta say I was somewhat disappointed in the commercials this year. Not much to brag about. The half time was pretty good though. Tell me something…I’m not familiar with Cold Play’s performances. Does he always bend over like that when he performs. It just looked kind of odd. And for a second, before I realized who it was, I thought Beyoncé had some pretty hefty looking thighs. I wondered why they were using a performer who was so obviously a little hefty.
I’ve seen Chris Martin perform yes, the hunched over thing is there. And Lady B is no lightweight – she’s an amazonian gal for sure, and what a bod!
I agree the ads were so so. The ones in the top 5 were okay, but my fav was the baby in utero reaching for the doritos. Clever spot.But so does Subaru. Of course the one with our little “Parker” in is my favorite of all of them. I really liked the one with the papa dog driving the pup around to get him to sleep and he wakes up again just as he goes to get out of the car. Boy, how true, how true and does that ever bring back memories. We did that with our first born more than once.
But no good Budweiser Clydesdale ones this year. But then, in the past they’ve set the standards so high I imagine it gets harder and harder to equal some of those past ones. I’ve shed tears more than once watching them.
is the Budweiser steeds at the football game and the sheep streaking across the field. Still cracks me up. Of course, the one with the guy raising the horse since birth, then having him leave and their reunion is quite the emotional one.
Love it when he’s blow drying the lady’s hair saying "that’s not that bad!"
I lost the love of my life on Jan 10th. Last night I saw the commercial with the guy raising the horse. The song "Landslide" just breaks me up. Hell, I’m tearing up just thinking about it.
Having had horses and knowing the equine/human bond PLUS that heartbreakingly gorgeous Stevie Nicks song, I get emotional as well.
I am so very sorry for your loss.and Cedric the Entertainer drove that commercial sky high for me, too. Him thinking he was so slick, walking and shaking that beer up in the bottle, you just kew what was going to happen when he opened it, but the sight of the woman getting splayed with all that beer and him trying to pat her dry with a hairdryer; OMG my sides hurt from laughing.
I still can’t post a new thread on SPMB, so decided to put this here. Did anyone see Peyton’s news conference today? What a class act! I wish someone hadn’t hidden onions around my living room as they were very annoying while watching it.
