…read somewhere last night, thru a feed on Facebook, that the new writers have axed 4 characteres: Belle, Shawn, Lani and Summer.

It was from Daytime Confidential but I read that Jason47 confirmed it on his Facebook page.
See that’s what’s wrong with this show…too many fingers in the pot all the time. New writers want their own "favorite" characters and characters that were brought in by other writers are given no time to develop. Not that I will be sorry to see the characters of Summer and Lani go….Summer’s storyline too fuzzy for me and poor Sal Stowers, they never gave her character any storyline impact at all…just poof Abe has a new daughter and Theo has a new sister and nobody was surprised or talked about it at all. I like Brandon Beemer as Shawn but this new version of Belle certainly hasn’t been working for anybody.
so Dena Higley’s been back for a month, and 4 actors are fired. I don’t care much about Summer and Lani, but Belle and Shawn made no sense to me whatsoever. So, I guess we’ll see them realize they still love one another and rideoff into the sunset. Then, what happens to Claire? I was enjoying Brandon Beemer in his role as Shawn D., and although I did not care for the cold indifference in Belle, Martha is a good actress and she doesn’t deserve this. But then, Dena was the one who fired them before, so here she goes again.

from the way I read it, Summer is NOT Maggie’s, but a con artist who was out to get her money.
with Lani would have been if she’d been Brandon’s daughter – coming to work with Grampa….the ages would have been more fitting. But she’s been nothing but nosy and in heat since she came on the show, so good riddance. Summer is useless – Marie Wilson is an "old-timer" (in terms of soap-acting jobs) – were they just throwing her a bone to land her a job or what? Belle & Shawn – they’re a legacy couple – and individually. Hope Belle gets Steve off before she departs. It would’ve been nice to explain their new professions instead of us just accepting *poof* she’s an instant lawyer and *shazzam* he’s a cop!
I cared about was Shawn. Belle was simply bad mom and too self-involved and cold for my liking. Summer is not interesting for me (hope maybe she’s not Mag’s kid afterall?) and Lani did absolutely nada. I do blame the writers partialy though because they never opened up her relationship with Abe.
I read that Summer was never meant to be long term (I think on Jason’s facebook page).
funny but Lani was just starting to do some good wokr. Liked the scene during the fire fight and also liked her with Shawn.
Speaking of that, I don’t get why Shawn and Belle were brought on to only be fired. Gusee Dena really doean’t like them!! Really doesn’t make sense cause they are the only bridge couple. from the older (John, Marlena, Hope, Jen) and the teens. I’d rather them than the teen scene!
