I was pleasantly surprised that her song today was her best IMO. That “growl” in the voice style is in vogue right now (I would categorize her niche as “Indie”) but I feel she uses it too much. Still, a thoughtful ballad and not so badly delivered.
oh-oh-ohs in her lyrics though, every one she has sung so far. I noticed the CC noted "country music" when she started singing so I guess that gives me a little better understanding of her singing. I still didn’t care for it. If she did, indeed, write those songs, she probably ought to stick to writing and let someone else sing them.
is that it takes up too much air time. Every time, they have her singing the entire song, when only 20-30 seconds would be enough. It reminds me of the old I Love Lucy shows when they would have Ricky singing on-air too much. The audience complained at the time and I think he sang less on the show as time went by.
but it doesn’t change my opinion of her voice one iota; she’s still cringe-worth to me. She should find another goal in life, IMO. Sorry!
She hit some notes off key. She fakes playing the guitar pretty well. She has obviously been around a lot of musicians. I’ve heard worse, but she is not major star material for a startup music label, download or cd.
