Silencer on the armoir?

 I remember a few episodes ago where someone was in the foyer but heard a noise when the armoir hiding the tunnel entrance was opened/closed.  Yesterday Stefan came out of the tunnel with John in the same freaking room and he didn’t notice it opening or closing.  I guess they installed a silencer or maybe put WD40 or white lithium on the hinges.
