I can’t believe it’s that time again. Really looking forward to this season especially with that heavy rookie QB draft. Patti, we’re up first on Sunday. I would be shocked if the Bills pulled this one off – just too many holes, a largely unknown Nate Peterman at the helm and going up against what looks like a rejuvenated Flacco and good team. PowerPaw always eager to watch my fav player Aaron and see him in healthy form. Can’t wait!
September 7, 2018 at 12:06 pm #54642PattiParticipantI am extremely happy so far with the performance from the Ravens, especially at all three of our QBs, at least through pre-season. So much talent this year in all areas of Offense, Defense and Special Teams. It’s wonderful to be this excited about our Ravens again. So, it’s party-time around here for Sunday. Good luck to you and the Bills this season, casey, but this is a little frustrating watching a game between our Ravens and a team so highly supported by one of my few Salem friends on this board I consider to be "ladies who love the NFL". Looking forward to our recap and comments on our teams after the game. Same comment to you as well PowerPaw. Hope the three of us, and any other Salem ladies who love football, have a wining season!!!
GOOOOO RAVENS
September 9, 2018 at 10:25 pm #54661powerpaw2ParticipantTough game next Sunday against the Patriots. We punted every possession in the second half and there’s no way that will fly against Brady and company.
The Pack plays Da Bears tonight. Great rivalry, so should be interesting. I’m still bummed over Jordy going to the Raiders. Aaron better live up to that insane contract! He should have donated part of it for a stellar o-line.
September 9, 2018 at 10:40 pm #54662caseyParticipantMy Bills had a total collapse – 2nd worst loss in team history!! Yes, Flacco and the Ravs great but the Bills have serious flaws (like losing 2 heavyweights off the O line) which they could not hide. If I’d had any hopes for the season it would be devastating, but already I’m looking ahead to the 2019 draft. I do hope rookie Josh Allen gets to start the rest of the year and mature as a QB.
Meanwhile, looking forward to watching a great pro in Green Bay beat the Bears tonight. And will be interesting how newcomer Mack will fare.September 10, 2018 at 1:06 pm #54663caseyParticipantWow oh wow – Rodgers continues his legend in stunning fashion! I cannot get over how he is carted off the field then comes back on a peg leg to rally the Pack down 20 to a dramatic win. What a joy to watch this gifted QB!
September 10, 2018 at 1:46 pm #54665PattiParticipantso no wonder that’s exactly what he got!!!
September 10, 2018 at 1:49 pm #54664PattiParticipantwho seemed to dominate the game throughout all phases with a crushing defeat of the Bills, 43-7. Buffalo and Nate Petersen just couldn’t seem to find their rythm, and it was obvious early-on that the Ravens were well prepared for them, even in a heavy downpour throughout the entire game. It was wonderful watching each of our new Wide Receivers, Brown, Crabtree and Snead each score a touchdown, and watching Joe (Cool) Flacco lead this victory was a thrill for Charm City. Looks like Joe’s in as great a shape as the rest of the team, and best of all…..no serious injuries. Defense took turns sacking Peterson, and I’m betting it won’t be long before the Bills go with Josh Allen. Now, with only a short rest, it’s on to an important division match with the Bengals on Thursday night. So glad Harbaugh and his staff decided not to play the starters in the 4th quarter, giving them a well-deserved break before their Thursday night division battle.
GO RAVENS
September 10, 2018 at 4:37 pm #54668powerpaw2ParticipantWondering why da hell the o-line didn’t play like that in the first half…. I almost went to bed until he came out for the second half. Had to watch and am glad I did!
September 14, 2018 at 3:53 pm #54687PattiParticipantEasy Come, Easy Go …. Ravens Disappoint Horribly. All I can do is hope their costly errors and poor plays, both offensive and defensive, showed just a bad day for all involved in the horrible loss to the Bengals. Joe looked like an entirely different QB …. one who didn’t know where his receivers were at all through the first half. I am so sorry to see what happened yesterday to our Ravens. I can only hope watching the tape will prove helpful for their next game, because I will be very honest and say we stank yesterday, including Joe (not so cool) Flacco, who didn’t seem to know what he was doing out there yesterday. If I can be sure of anything, it’s that when these game tapes are watched and reviewed, everyone will be shaking their damn heads, wondering what in the hell happened to this team in one week? Some heads should certainly roll today!
September 14, 2018 at 10:28 pm #54692caseyParticipantbut part of what happened in one week was the hapless Bills, probably making the Ravs look more all world than reality. I am sure though your boys will rebound. The game just got away from the Ravs in that first half .
September 17, 2018 at 1:56 am #54705powerpaw2ParticipantThe Bank was going nuts tonight. Bortles is tough as nails and played great.
The Pack got robbed on a BS penalty against Clay Matthews that would have stopped the Vikes game tying drive.
September 17, 2018 at 1:02 pm #54706caseyParticipantI am salivating over the Jags – what a defense and Bortles playing way better than I expected. My Bills may well go 0-16 – ugh!
That Matthew call was a “touch” foul at best. The rules are starting to treat QBs like marshmellows. I agree, they have to be protected, but not to that extent. Pack should have won, but a bit of karma when the Vikes guy missed 3 kicks!! Wonder if he’ll be replaced?September 17, 2018 at 5:41 pm #54708powerpaw2ParticipantLol I hope the Bikes keep him as there’s another game at MN.
Bottles is a beast when running the football. He will lower his shoulder and do whatever it takes to get yardage. I hung around after the game near the doors where the players go to their vehicles. Was able to get a picture with Telvin Smith and Keelan Cole. Both were super nice guys, but not as big as I thought they’d be. I wouldn’t want either of them running over me mind you. Blake went out another gate, so we’ll have to go over there the next time I get to go to a game.

September 18, 2018 at 9:52 am #54712PattiParticipantdefeat over the Pats. Stupendous game and Bortles was the Master of it. Great win, to say the least!!!! By the way, love the Jags new helmuts. So cool compared to the old ones.
I agree about the stupid call against Clay Matthews. That hit was completely legal, and though it caused a disappointing outcome for the Pac, a tie is always better than a loss. A little weird, though, to have two ties in the same week. First time since early 70s, I believe. Both the Jags and the Pac had a great day powerpaw2….CONGRATS!
A little ray of sunshine for the Ravens, since both the Browns and the Steelers lost. They must be peeing razorblades in Pittsburgh! LOL!
