I can’t believe this has been posted yet, so I’m posting it. I really liked him, I’m not familiar with the previous actors who have passed away, but I hope they keep him for a while. He had chemistry with Kate and Laura, and he looks like he could be Melissa Reeves’ dad. I couldn’t believe he was 59 when I looked it up, he looks older, but still has that fire in him.
As her usual self, Kate was coming on to Bill. If given the chance, she would have jumped his bones. She has no conscious when it comes to men. I’m glad Laura walked in when she did and told Kate she was not welcome. Of course, Kate doesn’t care, she just does as she pleases.
Regarding today – the blond wig didn’t flatter Kate at all. And neither does that awful two toned hair she sports.
I didn’t think he looked older than 59. And he seemed to be doing a very credible job of "being" Bill. Yes, I hope he stays around for awhile too. Maybe he’ll seduce Kate and then break her heart. Oh, please, oh, please…
I don’t know what he’s doing with Laura either. Maybe we are just to assume they have ‘hooked up’ again? Laura certainly hasn’t aged very well has she? I thought she looked awful, almost like she has had plastic surgery that went wrong. I’m not being catty, just frank.
I really didn’t think Kate was coming on to Bill. I just thought she showed up with flowers, he was there and he started going down memory lane. I think it just affected her when he started talking about doing things diferently. And didn’t he say that he and Laura weren’t together againor did I just mis-remember that?
was fine and very handsome. If there was anything inappropriate about his conversation with Kate, it was brought about by him and his wandering into their past. Personally, I thought there was nothing wrong with it. Laura was the one who was completely out of line. In relation to Bill, she and Kate are in an equal position; the mother of his child. Laura was very possessive, but Bill handled it. I would like to see more of this Bill if possible.

that I really liked a recast of a very popular, back-in-the-good-old-days, character right off the bat. I would really like to see him stick around.
Oh yes, I agree! He’s a good recast for Bill! I’m glad they included that character. …but why omit Tommy????
My Bill was Ed Mallory during the 70-80s time frame. I never saw the first actor or the third actor.
The current recast is great, too bad it couldn’t have been done by Mickey’s funeral. I would like to see the actor stay on. An older seasoned MD at the hospital would be good for the show.
The Bill character was always a ladies man, remember Mickey was married to Laura and it turned our Mike was Bill’s son not Mickey. I wasn’t watching during the Bill/Kate get together that produced Lucas, but I will say that the current actor could really heat things up for the older female actors on Days.
There was no Bill/kate on screen. Kate came to Salem with Lucas a teenager in military school and it came out later that she’d had an affair with Bill while he was married to Laura and Lucas is his son.
like drug Laura to keep her in the asylum? I seem to remember that. Vivian was there at one point and found out what happened and they tried to give her a labotomy?
never had any interaction at all. It was all a back story when they decided they wanted Lucas to be a Horton.
There was someone keeping Laura drugged and in the mental hospital though but I can’t remember right now who it was. (The only one I can think of who might have done it is Angelica Devereaux.) They played with Laura’s mental illness so much we didn’t really know if she was or if she wasn’t. There was bad writing even way back then.
When Kate first came to Salem she would visit Laura in the institution and it was Laura at Billie’s trial that revealed Kate had an affair with Bill which is what put Laura in her catatonic state to begin with. She witnesses their affiar (guess she wasn’t as strong as Sami). That’s when it came out that Kate was Billie and Austin’s mother and Lucas was Bill’s son.
