I still don’t understand the reasoning for having Mike in the hospital. I understand he couldn’t make the taping with the others, yet his episode was show with the funeral so…
And what was the reasoning for Sami having to go home to attend to Johnny? I didn’t see the purpose. If it was just to have a tender moment with Kate, that could have happened the next day, or whenever. Certainly Johnny wasn’t so sick as to need medical care so he could have just stayed with Mary until after the funeral.
And why in the world would Shane show up at the funeral? If anybody else had seen him other than Kim, it certainly would have caused quite a stir and taken away from the tribute to Alice. Disrespectful in the least.
Other than Caroline, I don’t think any other non-Horton was closer to Alice than Marlena so it was very curious she wasn’t there. I can only think there is such will between her (and Drake) and Corday that she refused to come back. Marlena and John’s absence was quite conspicuous.
I was glad they didn’t make Alice a Catholic in the end. Bo said the "pastor" gave a nice service. She must have been the only protestant left in Salem.
Jason47 posted that Roark wasn’t available to tape when the others were. They likely shot his scenes later, and inserted them into "that day". Only Bill and Jen came to see him at the hospital – there were probably others "at the funeral" that have already left by the time Roark arrived to tape.
