she will become delusional and start to believe that they DID have sex. They way she’s acting with him, I wouldn’t doubt it. Then it will just be her word against his.
the realm of "cuckoo" in that she is now actually believing her own lies. She has herself convinced that Austin should be with her, has lied to Melanie about sleeping with him, and has totally left the planet regarding her thinking that Austin deceived her. This could prove to be a pretty meaty role for Kate Mansie if the writers wanted to get into a mentally disturbed Abigail, possibly brought on by her believing Jack lied to her, abandoned her, rejected her family ….. all now coming back to swallow poor Abbey ….. who will now sort of be facing an illness of her own and not being able to handle Austin’s rejection of her for Carrie. Could be a splendid storyline for Kate (who I think would do a good job with the role), but I’m not convinced these writers could pull it off.
I agree with you Pautti I think it could be very interesting…….IF….the writers can pull it off…. we’ll see.
job playing "obsessed" Abby. Her facial expressions and her ultra focus on Austin make it seem realistic. To me, the SL is totally believable, so if the writers don’t go too far over the top, I think it could be a very interesting, sort of different storyline. The fact that Austin doesn’t return Abby’s feelings makes this storyline more tolerable, too.
we now know that Abby has become delusional in that she’s believing her own lies. To me, this is just another case of character assassination because Abby has always been the level-headed, "good girl" and it doesn’t make much sense to me that she’d go off the deep end like this. Although love does sometimes make one crazy. Even though, I don’t think she’s actually in love, it’s more just infatuation.
I think she just needs a good figurative whop up along side the head. Maybe Melanie will provide this for her. She shouldn’t be mollycoddling her like she is but shaking her into reality. A REAL friend would do that.
Actually, I can buy this story. Abby has always adored her father, despite the act that he continually diappointed her. Experts say that a girl’s vision of love depends on her relationship with her dad. Maybe this is why she is attracted to Austin. He is an older man who showered her with attention, exactly what she needed from her dad. She mistook this for true feelings of love and did all in her power to make it happen.
Anyone can have "false" memories. The mind can play tricks that make a person believe the fantasies as real. Let us just hope that she doesn’t trick herself into believing she is pregnant. That is all we need to have happen—what fallout that would bring.

But, you know, although he was very truthful and firm with her, I didn’t think he was emphatic enough. I know he doesn’t want to hurt her but sometimes that’t the only way you’re going to get your point across. I’m glad he finally told her he loved Carrie. But I still get the feeling this isn’t going to be the end of it. I sure hope she doesn’t turn into a stalker now. Maybe Melanie can save her.
She is lying and delusional! I hope they plan to develop this story into something of a stalker type story and then get this girl some mental help. I really hate that she is lying to Austin and now Melanie about what happened. Not only that, her over the top emotional break down over seeing him with his wife demonstrates that she is having a real mental collapse. I certainly hope the writers are savvy enough to write the story well and not just make it all better over night. That would be a major waste of time.
