Despite the judges’ raves, I wasn’t too into the show tonight. On the whole not many performances thrilled me. I have to say, though I’ve not been a Skylar fan, her first song was very well done. When she actually sings she can be effective and she certainly is a performer. I also thought Jessica’s second number was very good. Holly can sing but there is still something just “vanilla” about her for me. I missed Josh’s second song so can’t comment. He can be just too over the top.
I do not know who is going home.April 26, 2012 at 4:07 am #32646DeeLanParticipantI think Elise ROCKED her first song and don’t know why the judges don’t give her more praise than they do. I could tell Jessica listened to the judges last week and tried to connect with the songs and seemd to do it with the first song but it wasn’t the right song for her I liked Holly’s second song but wasn’t too fond of the first. Skyler I think did well both songs. Phillip I liked the first but wasn’t too fond of the second. I don’t know why Josh gets standing O’s from the judges so much and why they keep putting him on a pedistal.

April 26, 2012 at 1:07 pm #32651PattiParticipantthat’s for sure; but, I was pleasantly surprised at Skylar’s performance last night, in that I didn’t hate her. LOL! Who I am beginning to get bored with is Phillip. He sounds like he’s singing the same song every week to me, in that everything he does sounds the same. I still like Hollie, but I think tonight will be her night to go. She has a terrific voice, but no personality to it, or to her on-stage presence. She just doesn’t look like she should be up there with those left in the competition. There’s nothing "unique" about her. On the other hand, Elise is just the opposite for me. She trying way too hard to be the next Janis Joplin, and Steven’s not helping dissuade her either. Jessica and Joshua are so good but Jessica is just too bashful to be bold enough to combine her voice with her stage presence. Remember Pia Toscano — she had the same problem. Joshua "gospel" sings for me a little too much at times, and, when he does, he goes into "scream" mode and that I do NOT like. It’s just hard for me to cheer for any of them now that Colton is gone. Still think that young man made his presence known and that he did enough to wind up with a recording contract at some point.
