Watching idol, starting off strong with Kree. She was fabulous, then Brunell, he was great! he’s definitely my fav guy, I just love the tone of his voice. Gorgeous! Amber is really good too, kind of a boring song but she has a beautiful voice, and she’s beautiful too, loved the dress. Lazaro is such a cutie pie! Candice is one of the top females too I like her alot too. Not loving Paul, he sounds pitchy. The only good part of that song is when he hit that big note towards the end.oh yes I think a girl will win this year, Angie is on doing a wonderful beautiful job on Yesterday. Fabulous! I think Devin is the 2nd best of the guys. He’s got a great tone to his voice too.
Lol think it’s hilarious you can tell that Nikki and miriah don’t like each other, you can see it on their faces when either one is speaking. Lol.
One more to go, janelle is up next! She’s doing a great job too. Good night on idol!March 21, 2013 at 3:37 am #38718caseyParticipantit was not a good performance. I wonder what the problem was with his original choice that he needed to switch last minute? I understand how tough it must have been his whole life with that speech problem but the guy needs to grow a thicker skin. He will never make it in the cuthroat music biz world if he’s reduced to tears like that.
This was the first night I admired Janelle. Just loved her version of I Will.March 21, 2013 at 3:14 pm #38727PattiParticipantdon’t bring Nicki Manaj back next season, if there is one. The woman is a walking virus that infects everything and everyone around her. I guess she’s supposed to be the female Simon Cowell this season, but if you’re going to take on that task, at least have some class yourself. I despise this woman and just wish someone would put her in her place.
Everyone did well last night, but poor Lazaro may be going home tonight. I like Paul and like the way he did Eleanore Rigby, even though he gets no respect from the judges. They are downright cruel to him.
Jimmy Levine gave some bad advice last night. Maybe people should start listening and then going out and doing it their way — they way they feel it and not the way Jimmy thinks it should be. I like him as an advisor but think sometimes he gets carried away, and these kids have enough to go through just being up on that stage in front of millions of people each week without worrying if they’re doing it wrong because Jimmy thinks it should be done another way.
Kree is amazing, and so is Angie, but my favorite is still Amber for the girls and Devin for the guys.
March 21, 2013 at 6:05 pm #38729NoraParticipantI completely agree with you on Nikki, either she blathers on and makes no sense, or she’s down right creul. She’s worse than that other female judge they had, Kara I think her name was. At least Keith and Mariah have good comments and good I think Nikki is more wacked out than Paula ever was lol.
My tops are Angie, Kree, and Candice, I do like the girl that sang last, which one is amber? I think I have her and Angie confused. I think youre right about Lazaro going home, Paul will probably be in the bottom too. Do the judges have a save this year??? I havent heard anything about one. I felt so sorry for Lazaro, he is amazing. I wonder how he can sing without stuttering?
March 21, 2013 at 11:01 pm #38735PattiParticipantthat’s why Curtis went home; they wouldn’t use it to save him. I think Nikki was the only one who voted to save him, but the others would not. That’s why she was so p.o.’d.
Amber is the really pretty black girl whose voice they compare to Whitney Houston’s.
March 22, 2013 at 12:14 am #38736bluebonnetParticipantstage are Angie and Amber for the girls and Devin and Burnell for the boys. (I loved Amber’s yellow butterfly-looking print dress!) I did like the fact that Candice went in a little different direction, though. We’ll see what happens tonight. I know I’m in the minority, and I don’t always feel this way, but most of the time I like Nicky. She can be crude, but she does add a little spice and interest to the panel. All in all, I like the judges a lot more this year than last, but that’s just my opinion.
March 22, 2013 at 12:45 pm #38739caseyParticipantI’m not surprised Paul left – nice voice but nothing extraordinary. But Laz deserved to be in the bottom three. He clearly is getting the sympathy card from voters.
March 22, 2013 at 12:56 pm #38740bluebonnetParticipantAfter the judges were tough on him the other night, and he responded so emotionally, I guess the voters felt sorry for him. I was really surprised to see Devin and Amber in the bottom three. They were two of my top 4!
March 22, 2013 at 2:12 pm #38742PattiParticipantbecause these judges made it quite clear that he was just not their cup of tea. I didn’t expect him to go much further, but he certainly should not have gone home last night. Lazaro’s song was a hot mess, and he does seem to open the floodgates when he gets a bad critique, which, because of his speech impediment, tends to make people feel sorry for him. The young man has a very good voice, and I would hate to see him get by each week because of his disability rather than his ability to control himself.
I’m disappointed that all three of my favorites were in the bottom last night. I sort of expected to see Paul there, but not Devin, who also, for whatever reason, is not a favorite of these judges. Mariah needs to speak up for him more, like nagging Nikki does for someone she likes. Keith Urban needs to tell her to "STFU" once in a while.
But for Amber to be in the bottom was a travesty. But, that’s her own fault because of the hundreds of Beatles’ songs to choose from, she chose probably the second least heard of, and song choice is 50% of the battle. I hope she goes with her heart next week and gets herself back on track.
As it stands, I see these boys being picked off one by one each week until it’s an all-girl contest the rest of the way.
March 22, 2013 at 2:57 pm #38744NoraParticipantMe too, I was shocked Lazaro was safe, I think he’s adorable and a great singer, and yes he did the worst Wednesday. Amber did not belong there at all, I thought she was fabulous, I didn’t even notice that it wasn’t a well known song cause she has such a beautiful voice. I thought it might be that one blonde, can’t think of her name, the country girl, she was on the couch right above brunell, devin didn’t belong there either. I think if Laz messes up again next week he may not get so lucky.
March 22, 2013 at 10:09 pm #38750caseyParticipantthere’s one contestant who the voters like beyond, or in place of, performances. Lazar is this year’s. IMO he’s had back to back less than stellar appearances.
There’s something rather old fashioned about Devin for me that might also not resonate with voters. Great voice though.
As for Amber, boy, it sure shows how important song choice is. One bad one can sink you despite superior talent. -
