I am just starting to watch idol from last night. Deandre was up first, and I actually iliked him for the first time he sounds much better in a lower register. No more falsetto. I really like Erica Van pelt, I think she’s the strongest female, next to Jessica, I wasnt crazy about joshua this time, he didn’t feel it like Jenn said. I don’t like the country girl at all. Eliese was awesome I thought, she even got a standing o from the judges. I loved her smoky voice. Phillip phillips is really growing on me. He’s so cute! and he’s got that smoky voice too. I love his name too. Lol. Where is Hollie from? I didn’t notice the accent in her voice before. She’s doing a great job so far. Loved HeeJun!! kinda hokey but it was fun and he sounded great! Jessica was fabulous as always! she got a standing o too from the judges. The country girl and jashua might be in the bottom tonight.
his rendition of "Piano Man" was fantastic. I just love this kid. I also like Erika Van Pelt. She has an amazing voice, but don’t know if I like the severe color change to her hair. I think the cut was fine, but that really dark hair was not as flattering to me as it would have been if she had left it blond, with maybe some highlights in her natural blond hair. Jessica is starting to throw too much screaming into her songs. Wonder why. She has such a beautiful voice that she doesn’t have to do that, IMO. I can’t make myself like anything HeeJun sings, and his comedic antics don’t give him any points for me; actually, they annoy me. Elise was really strong last night. That song was perfect for her, and she had good stage presence as well. Worse for me last night and my prediction to go home …… HeeJun, simply because everyone else was so much better.
last night. He does sound better in a lower register but I think his dancing or skipping around took something away. That song wasn’t suppose to be as happy and jolly as he sang it.
I loved Erika’s hair both the color and the cut. Her face looked slimmer and I thought the whole look was flattering.
I noticed Holly’s accent last week after I heard her parents speak and their accents which are much stronger. Have no idea what happened to her brother that he has no accent what so ever. She’s got a great voice I loved her outfit.
HeeJun is annoying to me. I do think last night he was having fun and it was good but he annoys the heck out of me. He deadpans very well but he never turns the comic off.
Colton was great as always.
Joshua annoys me as well and don’t know why. I think it’s facial expressions and he always looks like he’s crying.
Skyler was a M E S S last night. She was all over the place and just not good at all. I really think she’s in trouble tonight.
Phillip was good. He’s Don’s favorite but I’m ont head over heels for him. He’s just "good" and nothing more
Jessica was good and has a beautiful voice. I think she’s got a good shot and wouldn’t be surprised to see her and Colton as the final 2
Elise was the best I’ve heard her last night. She sounded like she was channeling Janis Joplin. Normally she’s just OK but last night she was GOOD.

I agree I wast crazy about Erikas new hair ether, I agree that it should have highlights or something, it was way too dark. I like the cut. But l liked her blonde hair better. She’s still beautiful but I thought she looked better as a blonde. Still one of my favorites.
it should have been HeeJun. He bugs me to no end with his ridiculous antics, and his rendition of "It’s My Life" probably made Billy Joel puke. I think Steven Tyler made it very obvious that he was over the top with his poorly placed comedic nonsense. Now he’s bragging about pulling something even more outrageous for next week. I didn’t have much hope of the judges saving Erika, though. They’re probably saving it for someone higher up the ladder, like Jessica or Joshua or Colton. Once again, someone has to leave when they are so much better than those who were saved. Makes me so damn mad at the YOUTH votes, because they don’t look at the talent, they vote strictly on popularity.
DAMN! ARE YOU SERIOUS???? I haven’t watched the result show but I can’t believe they voted off Ericka! She is one of the top singers in the competition!! besides jessica. Who else was in the bottom? I like HeeJun, but you’re right, he’s becoming a joke, like sanjaya, only a better singer, but Erika did not deserve to go home!!
Agree. Did you see the looks on the judges faces when Erika was singing? Randy was frowning and shaking his head, Steven looked upset and was trying to talk to Jennifer and she sat with her arms folded across her chest with a scowl on her face. I don’t think it’s because Erika was singing but because she was put in that position when obviously it was HeeJun or even my guess Skyler who should have been in that position
for me this week. The country girl was awful – she’s beginning to sound the same, so she better change it up. I loved Erika’s hair in every way. So ridiculous she went before that Hee guy. He’s really trying to be a comedian but this is the wrong show. I thought he started out strong but is failing the last couple weeks.
Elise was the best performance she’s done so far.
Jessica a great voice, but not real distinctive that I would recognize it.
I have not liked Holly from day one – big voice but needs work.
For the first time I appreciated Phil.Elise was saved immediately, and it came down to HeeJun and Erika and HeeJune was safe ….. AGAIN! I felt so bad for Erika.
What did Jennifer and Randy and Steven say about Erika being voted off? I bet they were shocked too.
Randy actually leaned in and tried to say something to Jennifer and she sort of stared straight ahead, arms folded, and looked completely disgusted with America’s vote. None of the judges seemed to want to talk about it. Randy and Steven were silent, except for a few head shakes, but all felt she wasn’t worth using their one and only save for Erika. Too bad, becuse I thought she was.
My seven-year old granddaughter likes to watch American Idol with me. Since our last name is Dixon, she is convinced that Colton must be a relative of hers. My husband’s Dixon ancestors came from England to the Carolinas (in the 1600s) to Indiana (in the mid-1700s) and then to Ohio (very early 1900s). Anything is possible.
