This lineup has to be the worst ever! What are most of these people doing on this show? These judges sifted through thousands of auditions to come up with this crew?
I gave them a pass the first couple weeks, but no more excuses. Where on earth do they get these song choices and these cheesy decades-old arrangements?!
What is Paige doing on this show? That was simply dreadful. Why is Tim here? I couldn’t see how he made it from the getgo.
Crystal once again shined.
But oh what a forgetable season so far!March 24, 2010 at 3:31 am #11501NoraParticipantI thought about half were ok tonight and half were pretty bad, if the Tim guy danced alittle better he would have had better judgement, I coudlnt watch much of dancing and not cringe at it but his singing I thought was ok. and the youngest kid, he was pretty good, I liked him and the dread locks girl. I think she was the best tonight out of all of them. I liked the girl that sang you’re no good, I liked her preformance. I think the judges were too harsh tonight though, they were pitchy and some iffy dancing but overall I thought more than half were better than the judges say.
March 24, 2010 at 3:40 am #1150253tdogsParticipantI think they need two to go tomorrow night – Paige and Tim. Tim to me is a wannabe – a little kid in his basement lip-scyncing to a record (CD). Paige has beautiful eyes and very pretty – but her singing is all over the place. Should wait to see rest of the performers but since I was surfing Salem Place – thought I’d mention these two…this year with these folks so far is the pits! Perhaps AI should exit when Simon goes…
March 24, 2010 at 12:01 pm #11506PattiParticipantTim is going to continue to have the young votes, like the Disney-themed, High School Musical kids who will adore him. He doesn’t have much stage presence and I don’t expect him to last until the end, but as long as there are predominantly young voters, and I’m talking teens and tweens, this kind of kid will stay alive and others who are far better will be voted off. I sort of liked Lee last night (first performer). I like what he did with what I would never consider to be up there with most #1 songs (The Letter), but I liked the arrangement and what he did to change it up. I was, on the other hand, disappointed with Michael Lynch last night, who appears to me to be getting a little over-confident. Crystal has a very unique voice, but she has no stage presence whatsoever, IMO; however, I do expect her to make it to the finals. Right now, I’m just lovin’ Aaron and hope he continues to grow into his talent more and more each week.
March 24, 2010 at 1:00 pm #11507caseyParticipanthas been the only one to consistently select perfect song choices for his voice and style. A 16 yr old can do it while the older contestants don’t seem to have a clue.
I would have liked to hear his Arrowsmith song when he was feeling well.March 24, 2010 at 1:07 pm #11508luckeyParticipantDavid Archaletta, in a joking manner. That’s exactly who I thought of the first time Tim sang. He’s not bad, but he just sings the songs in a plain manner. I did agree with Simon about the long-haird blond guy, I think it’s Casey, in that he sang well, but he sang it exactly like Huey Lewis…nothing to make himself stand out. I liked Lee too and Michael did well. Crystal is a local gal from my area, so I’m pulling for her; but, I do agree that she is a bit one-dimensional right now. The judges mentioned that she needs to up the stage presence. She said twice that she has something planned for next week, I’m anxious to see what she does. The last girl, can’t remember her name, is a bit interesting in that you never know what she’s going to look like each week. However, Simon was right regarding her screeching at the end of every song. I don’t mind big endings like that, but she needs to tone it down and make it blend better with the entire song. This year’s talent is the weakest I’ve seen in the several years that I’ve watched.
March 25, 2010 at 12:48 pm #11531caseyParticipantto put Paige and Tim in the bottom two. No way were the judges going to save Paige – Simon made that painfully clear.
March 26, 2010 at 12:49 am #11559NoraParticipantI Fell asleep! Thanks!!!!
March 26, 2010 at 12:52 am #1156053tdogsParticipantand rightly so…although Tim should have gone as well.
March 26, 2010 at 3:52 am #11568NoraParticipantIs it still a one hour snooze fest or is it shortened to a half hour? I cant wait til they shorten tuesday to an hour. And thats pretty bad coming from me!
March 31, 2010 at 11:40 am #11649luckeyParticipantas usual, I very much liked Crystal and Michael. The rest were just okay. What I thought was very entertaining was several of the performers had no problem challenging the judges with some of their responses. As far as I’m concerned, they could put up cardboard pictures of the judges in their seats and just replay their same remarks week after week. They are talking out of both sides of their mouths most of the time and saying the same thing to each performer. I really hope this is the last year for this show. It’s become so boring. Of course, I could just stop watching too.
March 31, 2010 at 1:21 pm #11655caseyParticipantfrom Didi and Siobhan. I didn’t for once, think Tim was as bad as usual. Certainly no memorable performance but I thought his song was sweetly done in a very High School Musical style. I could see him in that genre.
I actually loved Crystal more than the judges. She showed me a more vulnerable side which was nice to see. I thought Garcia finally rediscovered his groove – I love the texture of his voice.
Michael performed very well, but have to admit I was a bit bored by the song.
I’d vote Didi off.
I agree – this should be the swan song for Idol.March 31, 2010 at 2:55 pm #11663PattiParticipantI like Michael Lynch, but he’s the kind of singer that everything sounds the same. I like Aaron and hope he sticks around long enough to improve. Lee is sort of unique, and I do like him as well. I was glad Simon pointed out to Siobhan that her scream at the end was beginning to bore him. She needs to stop trying to be the female Adam Lambert. Who’s going to go home this week? I would have to say Didi’s song was a poor choice for her voice, but I’d still vote off Tim. Not too bad of a voice, but too much like a Disney clone. No stage presence whatsoever. Simon’s critique of him was very funny, and so sad but true.
March 31, 2010 at 5:51 pm #1166953tdogsParticipant1. Crystal
2. Mike
3. all the rest
4. Vote Tim off tonight
5. Vote Didi off next week
6. Vote Andy off the following week
7. Then we’ll see whose left but Crystal and Mike are safe throughout the show (if not, IT would be a BIG surprise!)
8. After this years show – close up the stage and turn off the lights.
April 1, 2010 at 1:29 pm #11692PattiParticipantIf you didn’t go this week, I would have had to stop watching. Tim will last a while because he’s cute and cuddly and the tweens choice this year, but look out, not just you, Tim, but Anthony as well; I don’t think they’ll be holding off on either one of you being next to go too much longer.
