Lee was good, great and wonderful…but Crystal – wow! Just WOW! Especially with her last song.
May 26, 2010 at 1:05 pm #13157ellenkbParticipantShe absolutely deserves to win – but as we all know, it’s up to the teenage girls who vote 10 zillion times and probably they were on Lee’s team. Although… I thought that would happen with David Cook and David Archuleta and it didn’t so we will just have to wait and see. Either way, they both should have great careers ahead. On to So You Think You Can Dance!!!!
May 26, 2010 at 3:40 pm #13162PattiParticipantand just was not as good as I had hoped. Crystal should walk away with it. And, she should! She’s has an amazing voice and a very unique look (which has improved a lot IMHO). I predict she will be a big star simply because she can sing ANYTHING and make it her own.
May 26, 2010 at 4:18 pm #13164DeeLanParticipantDial Idol which goes by busy signal percentages has Lee the winner. I guess we’ll find out tonight if they’re right.
I have mixed feelings on this. I think Crystal is the best performer and was consistent every week but I hope Lee wins.He has improved greatly but was really beaten down by the judges many times in the beginning. You can tell the last few weeks he really wants this and actually believes he might have a chance where I think he was surprised he got as far as he did in the beginning thinking every week he’d be voted off.
May 26, 2010 at 8:41 pm #13182BritParticipantI like them both, although honestly I have picked Lee right from audtions ( and I’m way older than a teenager…lol), but the past few seasons it seems as if the runner up, or even those finishing 3rd or 4th seem to have better luck commercially. Either way, it was an awesome night for both of them.
May 26, 2010 at 8:41 pm #13183caseyParticipantI felt Lee’s second performance of the “Boxer” was too low-key and lacking the passion of the first.
Crystal’s final song was one of the best of the entire season. She has such a pure tone and is so unique, whereas there are a lot of Lee-type voices out there right now.May 27, 2010 at 2:27 am #1319753tdogsParticipantI know you are on the east coast and it’s 7:30ish out here on the left coast…WHO WON? I can’t wait until 9:55 p.m. tonight to know!!!
May 27, 2010 at 2:31 am #1319853tdogsParticipantand the winner was announced…surprising on who won – even though this person was great too.
May 27, 2010 at 4:11 am #1320353tdogsParticipantone of my favorite songs of all time…good to see Bret looking so well, I know he’s going to have a special on all the health issues that he’s had soon.
May 27, 2010 at 1:20 pm #13213PattiParticipantthat Lee won. He is very good in his own style, as is Crystal. His nerves may have gotten the best of him in the finale, but he still was able to pull it off. I’m very happy for both of these kids; but, I must say, Lee looked genuinely shocked that he had won.
May 27, 2010 at 2:41 pm #13218caseyParticipantAll those guest performers, topped by Janet Jackson.
Although I believe Crystal should have won, I was very happy for Lee. He was so humble and grateful, and it’s nice to see a good guy come out on top. I hope both have successful careers.May 27, 2010 at 2:44 pm #13219NoraParticipantI was kind of shocked that Lee won, I would have been happy either way, I liked both of them. I did think Crystal was going to win though. It was a great show. Loved seeing all the idols come out and sing, but I didnt see David Cooke, did you guys? I think he was the only one. I couldnt pick out most of the other contestants up there, I did see Bo Bice, Justin, I dont think Clay Aiken was up there. I’m going to miss Simon though, it’s just not going to be the same next season! I’ll probably watch anyway!
May 27, 2010 at 3:17 pm #13220DeeLanParticipantI think Crystal is better off not winning. Idol tends to push the POP songs and that’s not what Crystal does. By not winning she’s free a lot sooner to do her own music her own way. Either one would have a career by coming in 2nd, even 3rd but I do think the winner is locked into Idol for a longer period of time and that’s why we don’t hear from too many of the winners past their first single. The exceptions are Carrie who for some reason was allowed to pursue the country music genre and Kelli.
I’d read an article the other day where someone was speculating on why Bo Bice didn’t make it farther than he is. Yea, he came in second but he was "forced" to record a pop song for his first single then when he started touring he had some health issues and was forced to stop touring for a while which is when he needed to be out there furthering his career.
You are right, David Cook wasn’t there last night. I figured he might have been touring and couldn’t break free but they could have at least had him via satellite saying something to Simon. I mean he was on earlier this year so we know he’s still connected to Idol in some way. Clay, I’m not too surprised about with not being there. Didn’t he have some issues and broke himself free from Idol a year or so after the second season ended. They didn’t mention him for a long time on the show after that.
May 27, 2010 at 3:36 pm #13221GoodyParticipantGlad to see your post. I think of you often and hope all is going well. Prayers and good thoughts.

May 28, 2010 at 1:56 am #1323753tdogsParticipantSo glad to hear from ya – how are you doing? You are still in my prayers and hope you are doing well. Please post more often if you can and feel up to it – we all miss ya!
I heard on news that they are predicting since Simon’s gone – viewership (even if they get Paula) is going from 30 million to 10 million (even though 10 million is a great number for any show)…but I think the show will only be on a couple more years and then they’ll move on to the next big thing on t.v. whatever that maybe…
