What did you think of tonight’s show?
I think they both did terriffic jobs but my heart still belongs to Scotty. The song they picked for him to record if he wins was just perfect for him. Lauren’s was good also. I guess they picked great songs for both of them.
Don feels like they threw Scotty under the bus and were pimping Lauren a bit. First with the big deal about her vocal cords and having a doc come out and verify it. Seems like they were trying to get a lit of sympathy vote or make allowances if she was bad. Then the way the judges were fawning over her at the end. He feels they’re looking for another Carrie Underwood and I think they just want a girl to win since it’s been a male American Idol for several years now.
No matter which one wins the other will have a contract before the night is over and a very successful career.
I dont know either, it’s gonna be close! I love Scotty too, but I think Lauren did alittle better, I do agree about them pimping Lauren, and we all know that Steven is in love with her. I didnt vote tonight becuase i didnt want to vote against Scotty! i think he was alittle nervous. the 2nd song he sounded alittle sharp and sometimes it sounded like he wasnt with the music . i only heard half of his last song, i’ll listen to it tomorrow. but I really really want scotty to win.
hooey that they had the doctor come up and do that schtick about her voice…that kind of thing PO’s me. And then Randy and Jennifer stood up and cheered for her at the end of her first set, I didn’t see them doing that for Scotty. And yes, if you can’t tell yet, I’m wanting Scotty to win. Tomorrow night will be difficult for me to not log onto Salem Place – because of east coasters comments (anyone east of the Rockies is east coast to us Californians), it will be tempting to log on and see for sure!
Boy, I don’t like the two hour shows tooooooo long but doesn’t this one seem rushed since it’s only an hour tonight – it’s like Ryan is on a timer…
singer, however I don’t think he is a good judge, at least not with his comments, just seems to me he parrots the other two. I would think that his being in the music business for forty years he would have better critique on the singers…but then I don’t watch 80 per cent of the show, usually I watch the singers (my favorites anyway like Scotty) and what the judges have to say about them.
Usually for the 2 hour finale we have it on but do other things and only watch when the winner is announced. Don’ care for the entertainment. Even during the regular shows when they have guest performers I usually use that time to let the dogs out or go to the bathroom.
Lauren will win. She’ll definitely get the sympathy vote. I didn’t catch the songs that would be their records. Personally I don’t think the world needs another Carrie Underwood. But a classic country artist like Scotty would be a valued addition IMO.
Scotty, win or draw will be a successful recording artist.having said that, I’m going with Scotty. Lauren is cute but she just doesn’t do it for me, especially when she sings a ballad. I think Scotty will be a FAMOUS country star, sooner rather than later, but Lauren will have to deal with her shyness and lack of holding it together while maintaining the attention of the audience when she performs. However, they’re both young and they won’t go anywhere but up, up, up! I thought it was cheesy for them to have to have a doctor confirm Lauren’s throat problem. It happens to singers all of time, but they don’t have to have it explained by an M.D. after they perform. Just a little added pimping of favoritism on the part of the show, who has had male winners for the past couple of years now. Scotty deserves it; he should win it; and I think he will. If not, I’d be willing to bet he will turn out the bigger star of the two. Lauren just never did do it for me, sorry.
for Scotty, one – because I like him, he’s young, cute, nice and will have a long career, two – because he’s talented beyond belief, three – I didn’t like the way the judges treated him last night (pimping a few of you called it), four – as old as I am, I’d order his music, and for the fifth call – He is an amazing singer. (Guess fifth call was same as second vote call but he deserves it!)
Lauren’s last song was a nice tribute to her Mom and mom’s.
singers come on – Lady Gag-gag (spelling intended), and most of the other talent they have on the show who are not contestants.
“It was beautiful” has become as bad as Randy’s “Yo dog, that was pitchy.” In the beginning Tyler was more creative with his critiques, but as the season wore on, he was saying less and less and hardly ever on the constructive criticism side.
He does unload some gems though, and I’d like to see him up his game next season if he returns because I like the guy.Lauren but thought that they should have two AI winners, three, four…" I noticed his pat standard lines too – you are right Casey, he says the same thing all the time now. I want a judge who judges based on the merits of the contestant’s talent and no comments otherwise. Simon had his favorites and commented favorably on them many times, I didn’t like that either. I didn’t care for Ellen because she did the same thing that Steven is doing now too – not wanting to be disliked or hurt someones feelings, so every body wins…if you are going into a contest there are winners and losers – that’s life, ya can’t have every one win all the time.
