I have to hand it to the show for putting in several changes this season. And apparently the voters were ten million stronger than last year during this round.
I was surprised and disappointed Aubrey didn’t make it though I felt her performance last night wasn’t quite as impressive as her usual.
Actually, on the men’s side I enjoyed their “victory” songs better than most of their performances up to that point. This Burnell guy is very unique and his phrasing is like none other. He will be my fav going forward.I so wanted her to make it. Just goes to show how important song choice is, but I was really happy that 3 of my favorite women went through: Kree Harrison (gosh she reminds me of Adele), Angie Miller and Amber Holcomb (my favorite). Candice has that beautiful smooth jazz voice, which I love, but I’m not sure how long she will stay popular with the young voters, and Janelle Arthur is cute and perky and has a good country voice, but she will never keep up with Kree, IMO.
So glad Paul Jolley made it through for the guys, and I actually picked Brunell and Lazaro and Devon, but was not impressed with Curtis, even though it was a "given" that he would go through.
Still love Keith Urban as a judge. He’s so genuine and one of the best judges AI has seen in a good while. Hope he stays, but Nikki and Mariah can both clear out next year, if there is a next year.
And, I agree that the two women judges can go. Four judges are way too many in my opinion. Aside from Nikki’s absurd comments most of the time, hearing from 4 judges makes the show too long.
