Does anybody intend to buy Ali’s new novel, The Star Attraction? She says she wrote it our of frustrations of her character on Days not being able to do what she wanted. I think I’ll wait and see what others think about it before I buy it.
May 6, 2013 at 3:35 am #39536shadowParticipantYou couldn’t pay me to buy anything that Allison Sweeney would be selling.
This E.J. and Sami show is getting very old and boring. I ff them so I don’t have to watch. Sami is so arrogant and conceded and thinks she can rule everyone. I read another blog and most of the ones on there really don’t like Sami. They are tired like I am and wish she would go away.
I think she has turned Will into a complete wuss. The whole sl of Gabi and Nick has been about Sami being in control.
May 6, 2013 at 2:32 pm #39538justwonderingParticipantSami is a character that is written for the actress Allison to play. Allison does not have control of how Sami is written. I don’t think it is fair to assume that Allison is anything like Sami! For whatever reason, TPTB have decided that EJ and Sami should be a couple (believe me I don’t like it one bit). However, Allison doesn’t run the show, Ken Corday and Sony do.
Allison seems to be an ambitious, talented woman who wants to make sure her future is financially secure. Good for her.
May 6, 2013 at 3:30 pm #39539PattiParticipantassessment of Allison Sweeney v. Sami Brady. I find it such a shame that some cannot separate “real” life from “reel” life. As for her book, it’s her first novel and has, from what I have read, nothing to do with DOOL or TBL. Although it doesn’t come out until May 14th, I’ve ordered it and look forward to reading it.
May 6, 2013 at 3:32 pm #39540bluebonnetParticipantuntil I read your post, Bonbon. But since then, I read some reviews and they were favorable. I might give it a try.
May 6, 2013 at 8:23 pm #39541shadowParticipantThen why is she listed as director/producer of DOOL. That must give her lots of control. And according to what has been written or said about Ken Corday, Sami is his pet. So she probably gets her way a lot.
I know real from reel and I have enough sense to tell the difference. Ijust can’t tolerate the character and I wonder what she is really like and how she treats her husband. (I also wonder how he feels about all these romping in bed scenes with E.J.) It’s close to being porn.
May 6, 2013 at 9:54 pm #39542PattiParticipantthat you are or I am. You may have seen her listed on a date that she directed a particular show, but she has never produced DOOL. The Executive Producer is Greg Meng.
May 7, 2013 at 6:42 pm #39561justwonderingParticipantI would imagine that any spouse/significant other would not like to see bedroom scenes with their partner. I remember Galen’s wife saying how much she hated it when they were on Dirty Soap. However, I would hope that they are secure enought to know that it is a job and that is all.
From everything I have seen about Allison, she is happily married with 2 great kids and a good looking husband who is a cop.
May 7, 2013 at 8:12 pm #39562BonbonParticipantand said he just doesn’t watch those scenes. He was kind of noncommittal about it.
May 7, 2013 at 10:26 pm #39568dvalParticipantthat the "producer" title is given to actors on a show as part of their contract. It doesn’t mean really much other than, I assume, it helps them perhaps to get a higher pay scale and maybe with royalties down the road.
and yes she has directed some episodes but I don’t think that gives her any pull more or less than any director has over their particular episode. You see a lot of that on prime time TV right now.
And no offense shadow, but many times the way your posts are written it does sound like you think Sami/Alison are one and the same. You interchange their names in your comments quite easily. No offense meant, I’m just saying how I read your posts sometimes.
May 8, 2013 at 3:41 am #39574shadowParticipantI try to say what I am thinking and sometimes it doesn’t come out like it should. No offense taken.
May 10, 2013 at 7:18 pm #39624zsuzsaParticipantI can understand how, although her novel has nothing to do with Days or Sami, she can get frustrated with the writing of the show, just like we do. I know I can watch an episode or storyline and rewrite it in my head. Maybe this is her outlet for writing a storyline the way she WOULD write it if she had control, and this novel gives her the control. I would write one if I could get it published and publicized, too!
May 10, 2013 at 9:23 pm #39626BonbonParticipantthat is very much the way she explained it.
