American idol is back! Jan.16th! Anyone know who all the judges are going to be?
January 3, 2013 at 8:48 am #37024BonbonParticipantAI has begun it’s downfall. I don’t think you can keep screwing with the judges like that. Unless they come up with someone pretty amazing, I think it’s going to bite the dust. I still think they should use guest judges and have someone different each week.
January 3, 2013 at 2:11 pm #37033caseyParticipantlast year was one of the best in recent years for one reason only – the strength of talent.
I saw Keith Urban in the promos so I don’t know if he’s just there for auditions or what.January 3, 2013 at 4:11 pm #37042PattiParticipantNicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, but I’m not sure if they’re going to work. They supposedly hate one another. We’ll see.
By the way, I believe The X-Factor will bite the dust before A.I. ever will.
January 17, 2013 at 10:56 pm #37357caseyParticipantAt first Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were going at it with some nonsense which I thought was so embarrassingly trite and self-serving. But as the show went on they focused on the auditions and it improved. I found Keith Urban quite likable. Some strong voices so far.
January 17, 2013 at 11:28 pm #37362BonbonParticipantthing is a ratings ploy? It is so nonsensical and has been overly exploited on all the entertainment shows. They’re probably the best of friends.
Maybe I am too cynical but so much TV has become so sensationalized as to be laughable. All these so-called reality shows are so contrived that it is obvious to anyone with half a brain. Where is it all going?
I used to laugh at the Honey Boo-boo train wreck but they’ve made the whole family so disgusting I can’t even watch it anymore. That show that TLC had about the Amish was a total farce (and exposed). I also liked My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding too but they’ve "scripted" that now to be utterly ridiculous. Even one of my favorites, Cesar Millan, has a new show that is horrible.
January 18, 2013 at 2:08 am #37366PattiParticipantlooks like a ‘cardboard’ tunnel.
January 18, 2013 at 4:12 am #37367caseyParticipantI liked the Dog Whisperer but he’s got a new one? On Nat Geo or another channel? The problem with so many “reality” shows is the participants/producers exaggerate the scenes to be as outrageous as possible. In fact, that seems to be our entire culture today.
January 18, 2013 at 7:01 am #37368BonbonParticipantI don’t know the name of it but he rehibilatates a bad dog then had three different families compete by showing their dog skills with it to see which one will be able to adopt the dog. To me, the people are acting like they are told and everything is long and drawn out. I was very disappointed.
January 18, 2013 at 3:17 pm #37374NoraParticipantThis year unfortunately reminds me of the horrible year Of Paula, simon, and Kara fiasco. I only watched.parts of the intro shows this week and the only guy that really stood out was the last guy they showed who was the stutterer.(sp?) He was amazing.
January 18, 2013 at 4:09 pm #37376BonbonParticipantI hope it isn’t the same one who was on America’s Got Talent. dr. Phil proved him to be a fraud. Did he sing C&W?
January 18, 2013 at 5:23 pm #37378PattiParticipantMy ex-boss’ son was a very bad stutterer, but he could play a song on his guitar and sing beautifully, without stuttering at all. Remember Mel Tillis? He was the same way. This kid on AI, according to his parents, began stuttering when he was about 5 years old, and has gotten progressively worse over the years. But boy, can he sing!
January 18, 2013 at 7:33 pm #37382BonbonParticipantwasn’t a kid but he gave this story about how he was injured over in Pakistan and got the stutter from that. It was all made up. But, he was a good singer.
I have read that they don’t stutter when they sing because that comes from a different part of the brain. When my brother had his stroke he couldn’t talk but he could sing (very common according to the doc). The only problem was, he couldn’t sing his thoughts, only songs that he already knew. I can’t tell you how many times we sang "You Are My Sunshine."
January 20, 2013 at 2:37 am #37406DeeLanParticipantI use to stutter when I was younger and the doc told my parents it was because my brain was working faster than I could talk so I’d stumble over the words. My thinking was singing was different because the words are already written and the music keeps it all in time for you.
January 25, 2013 at 12:40 am #37459PattiParticipanteven Randy is getting on my last nerve this year. I’m waiting for a contestant to just walk out, and nobody even notices it.
