I know it’s so sad, I barely care if I watch anymore. I still dont know who that other annoying female judge with the pink hair. I think this might be the last year, maybe one more if their lucky
January 25, 2013 at 1:08 pm #37462goodolddaysParticipantI’m not watching this year, and it’s because of the judges. I never liked Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj is just a joke. These people are supposed to judge talent?? I think it’s time for this show to go. IMO it started going downhill when Simon left.

Of all the current panel I like Keith Urban best. He was quite meek the first round, but has really come out of his shell the second week. I had so much respect for him when a contestant was flirting and he waved his wedding band at her.
But Nicki is just a narcissistic drama queen whose voice (speaking one) I cannot bear. Perhaps going forward Mariah, whose mother is an opera singer might have something constructive to say. Time will tell.
But it may have less to do with the judging or even talent than simply a series that has is long in the tooth and has run its course.January 25, 2013 at 5:13 pm #37466NoraParticipantNicki reminds me of Kara from a couple seasons, I think it was the last year with Simon, she was just as annoying as nicki, most people don’t even know who in the heck these women are. Makes me sad because you all know how much I loved American idol, I couldn’t wait for janurary to get here, now I don’t even care if I watch the auditions or not. It feels more like the Jerry springer show when all the judges are goin at it and throw Ryan in with those idiots too.
January 25, 2013 at 7:09 pm #37468BonbonParticipantit is all for the ratings. It seems like so many shows are trying to dumb down their content to make it so utterly outrageous that even the people who watch Jerry Springer will watch it too. And it’s not just AI, it’s so many others. It kind of scares me where TV is going.
I did watch a good new show this week on Fox (which I rarely watch). It was The Following with Kevin Bacon. Fairly believable and exciting. I’m looking forward to the next episode.

Even that I think is all for show and ratings to get people to keep tuning in waiting for the cat fight to begin.
