So I’m trying to figure out what the deal is with Hope. She’s definitely not Gina anymore and I get her feeling upset about the whole thing but the way she was flashing back today and the fact that she said "I feel like Gina has beaten me." Then you have Jennifer pointing out Steve is the only one who can understand what she’s been through. I hope I’m wrong but I smell a Hope/Steve (Stope, Heve, Hatch?)pairing ? God please no! It’s bad enough with Kayla and Justin but Steve trading Sweetness for Fancy Face, wife of his best friend? Ew. Steve and Kayla are my favorite couple. I know they’re probably end game here but a Steve and Hope pairing just taints the whole history for me. Please let me be wrong.

Not cuz I love Steve & Kayla (snooze fest then and now) and not b/c I’m all for these Supercouple reuiniting (the magic of the 80’s pairing is long gone for most of these folks – let’s get some NEW couples in front and center.) But I am NOT INTERESTED in seeing a Hope/Steve pairing. EEW. I don’t want to see Hope with anyone – unless PR comes back (and we know he ain’t.)
Let them help each other thru it as LIFE LONG FRIENDS. Why does every male/female friendship on this show have to be a bed hop? LOL
I think she is definitely Hope again but PLEASE NO SOPE or HEVE (like HEAVE lol.)
April 17, 2020 at 3:45 am #57086majencoParticipantYup. I’m with you Tflo I’m probably older (51) and I remember the heyday of Steve and Kayla. It was great but you can watch all those clips on youtube. We don’t have the budget for that now but I don’t understand why the writers can’t craft an adult storyline for these beloved characters. It’s just lazy and insulting.
April 17, 2020 at 10:23 am #57087powerpaw2ParticipantThere’s repetitive writing for just about every couple on the show. (And as someone said, why can’t people just be friends?)
Will and Sonny – either in bed, kissing in the living room then heading to the bedroom, or somewhere eating
Chad and Abigail – either in bed, or kissing in the living room then heading to the bedroom
Ben and Ciarra – either in bed, kissing in the living room then heading to the bedroom, or somewhere eating
I keep hoping Ben will join Black Patch as I that being a perfect fit for him. Shoot Ciarra could do that as well. No matter what, the writers consistently put forth minimal effort. They need to find and hire whoever was writing in the 80s, 90s and early 00s.
April 17, 2020 at 2:08 pm #57088mommytutuParticipantYes, I think the boring, uncreative writers will put Steve and Hope together. Then Kayla will realize she loves Steve and we’ll be dragged through a long story where in the end, Steve and Kayla get back together. I’m 57 and remember the the hey days of Steve and Kayla, Hope and Bo, Shane and Kim, etc. please writers give us stories and couple to root for. Right now it is a snooze fest.
BTW, I’m hoping with all this time off because of coronavirus, maybe the writers will have come up with some stories worth watching and give some of these couples something to do besides eat and have sex. Yes, people do tha in real life, but there are other things to do besides that.
April 27, 2020 at 2:57 pm #57103PattiParticipanta little more just why I despise Carlivati as DOOL’s headwriter. The man lives way way way tooooooo far in the past for my liking. He doesnot just like to simply recall past storylines, he thrives on recreating them with practically no end in sight, and far too much for my taste!
April 27, 2020 at 8:37 pm #57105majencoParticipantI would be fine with bringing up the past, in fact I would prefer it if you give them a meaty storyline. With Steve and when Jack lost his memory as well there was an opportunity for the writers to tell a real romantic story. Kayla or Jennifer could tell them their love story but it wouldn’t make them remember. Instead there would be some other scenario (maybe a crisis with their kids or something to do with their jobs) in which they saw their former spouse with new eyes. They would fall in love anew. Then waaaay down the line would be an opportunity for the icing on the cake when they regain their memory. The writers are too lazy for this, too lazy to dig up the old footage, to write the romance with a slow burn and an excellent payoff.
April 27, 2020 at 9:29 pm #57106PattiParticipantwhich only cements my opinion of Carlivati in that the man has no "reel" imagination. He claims to have a great love for the old days of DOOL, but repeating them without any rhyme or reason other than his familiarity with them but not giving them some new direction just makes me want most of them to be ‘gone and stay gone!’ Sorry….JMO!
April 28, 2020 at 12:56 am #57108majencoParticipantYeah you’re definitely right about the current storylines. Nothing for our veterans to work with.
