I know Steven Nichols is on another soap but I just cannot abide the breakup of Patch and Kayla. When he was believed to be dead fine. But now that they have been reunited I’m just not buying this anger Kayla has over Steve just being freakin Steve! It would never happen! Not ever! Patch and Kayla are my favorite couple ever on Days and I endured that Kayla and Shane fiasco in the 90’s but nope I can’t take them going out like this. Why can’t they just have Kayla work at the hospital and they keep Steve off screen but still in her life? She can’t just be a friend to Abe and help others? Hell, Roman hasn’t had sex in years and he’s still going strong! Booooo! Writers, get a clue!
There is absolutely no reason to break up Steve and Kayla. Why can’t he be on a mission, they’re still madly in love and she’s here working either at the pub to help Caroline or at the hospital. They probably won’t keep her on the show that long, as usual, so why ruin her relationship with Steve?
Kayla could work with Theo the way she helped Benji way back when. So many possibilities for her that don’t involve romance. It’s a waste of a great character and it ruins one of the best couples Days has ever had!
why they even brought her back. GMAB, she used to be Chief of Staff at a major hospital and how she’s waiting tables in a pub? That just doesn’t make sense.
Why would they bring back a character like Kayla if they weren’t going to have a good explanation (other than breaking them apart) for not bringing back the spouse? Lame I tell ‘ya, just plain lame!
better legacy than this. Well said, you guys. Steve was always one of my very favorite characters. I agree that there could have been a better explanation for Kayla to be in Salem. I think Steve joining the ISA is so characteristic of his daring nature. Kayla’s change in attitude toward him seems a bit unbelievable, to me.
