I give that heavier girl a lot of credit. But I think the workload – with her being diabetic and overweight – might do her in.
June 9, 2011 at 2:46 pm #24346BonbonParticipantbut didn’t alike all the "alternative" dances. I guess I’m just an old crotchety grandma but I don’t care for them falling all over the floor and rolling around. Don’t much care for the extreme hip-hop stuff (break, popping, and such) either. To me, that is more athleticism than dancing. It should belong in some kind of gymnastic genre.
June 9, 2011 at 3:28 pm #24347trixiebeldenParticipantit is right up there with amazing race as one of my favorite reality shows. i agree, the physical demands may be too much for her, but i am very glad to see she is not just automatically dismissed due to her size. no other real favorites so far, i don’t like to get too attached until i see who is in the top 10 or 20.
June 9, 2011 at 4:20 pm #2435153tdogsParticipantto tears by some of the dancing – it was beautiful and amazing. Then because Mary, the judge was always screaming – it was so off putting I quit watching. So when it came on this year I decided to watch once again – so now that they are almost to the finale 20 – I can’t wait. I am in awe of great dancers having two left feet and no rhythm at all myself.
June 9, 2011 at 11:49 pm #24372PattiParticipantThe things these kids can do with their bodies and still keep their balance just amazes me. I agree, the "heavier" sister is really good, but she seems to be having health problems with low blood sugar. Hope she takes care of herself. There’s only so far you can push yourself on this show. It’s demonic how these kids are pushed, and although it’s obvious they all will do anything in their power, including hiding injuries, just to make that final 20. But the talent of these young dancers is truly incredible. Are the auditions over yet? I can’t wait for the real competition to begin.
June 10, 2011 at 5:28 pm #24418trixiebeldenParticipantLast night they revealed the top 20, whom all did some group dances, and Nigel discussed the format for this year. He basically said he loves the all star format, but they are responding to the fans, who have made it clear they like to see the chemistry between the current crop of contestants. so, they will have them dancing as pairs in the top 20, and when they get to top 10, then they will have them dancing with all stars. (Sounds like a decent way to do it to me. Pasha is my all time favorite from the show, so getting to continue to see him is great, lol.)
June 10, 2011 at 11:02 pm #2443053tdogsParticipantamazing. I like the girl with the short hair this year and also the blond girl that hurt her tail bone…don’t know their names yet (or haven’t memorized them). Also the hiphopper little guy (although they said he was the oldest on the show he’s got a baby face), he wore the big red glasses last night…
June 11, 2011 at 3:39 pm #24459maxineParticipantThere are some really good dancers this year, I have watched this show from the beginnig and still love it, I really like to see how they grow, I have not yet picked a fav but my heart goes to the blond Ballroom dancer( can’t remember her name) , but as the show moves forward, my fav always change, so I will to give it some time.
June 18, 2011 at 5:05 pm #2464153tdogsParticipantcompetition from Webster is:
Com`pe`ti´tionn. 1. The act of seeking, or endeavoring to gain, what another is endeavoring to gain at the same time; common strife for the same objects; strife for superiority; emulous contest; rivalry, as for approbation, for a prize, or as where two or more persons are engaged in the same business and each seeking patronage; – followed by for before the object sought, and with before the person or thing competed with. After Thursday night, this is no longer a dance competition for the best of the best, it is just a love fest. While I enjoyed the dancing, this is show is about the best dancer in a group of "not so best", you are suppose to have a winner and loosers (or dancers that weren’t quite as good if you want to be PC about it).
June 18, 2011 at 9:17 pm #24645NoraParticipantI’ve watched it a few times last season and the last show this week, I think the dancers on here are fabulous. I love watching them, they really tell a story when they dance. absolutely beautiful. I loved all of them this week, i think I’ll keep watching. what all days is it on??
June 18, 2011 at 9:45 pm #2464653tdogsParticipantbecause I DVR nearly everything I "watch".
June 18, 2011 at 10:31 pm #24647NoraParticipantOk Thanks Pam! : )
June 19, 2011 at 2:02 pm #24653caseyParticipantbetter tv if two couples are let go? More drama? Like Idol has done. I’ve come to view the show as not “best” dancer, but again, a popularity contest. Afterall, the show seeks to find “America’s FAVORITE dancer.”
That being said, it does burn me when talent does not win out. Except I generally feel most of these competitors are more talented across the board than Idol, which makes it easier to swallow.June 24, 2011 at 2:38 pm #24739caseyParticipantkept Ryan. Don’t know why she was in the bottom.
June 24, 2011 at 3:40 pm #2474053tdogsParticipantinteresting to watch!
