What’s up with that Ali, choosing her job over love? I mean this girl knew what she was getting into, that she might have to choose to keep her job or gamble on a relationship. She made it to the final four, Jake told her she wouldn’t have been eliminated last night and she still blows it. And from the preview sounds like she regrets it next week. Jst like last season when Ed decided his job was more important and ended up asking for a second chance and was Jillian’s choice.
I say Ali made her choice so Jake should forget her.February 9, 2010 at 7:59 pm #10338SWParticipantI don’t blame her for choosing the job over Jake especially given the economy and job situation. Remember she has been saying all along that if Jake likes Vienna enough to keep her around, he might not be the right guy for her. I have to agree on that one. He might keep her around for another week but that doesn’t mean he’ll pick her in the end. She seems to be a woman who values her job and why should she give it up just on a chance that he might decide to pick her? The way the love matches go on the shows, they don’t have a very good track record! Let’s see: good paying job or possible husband? Not an easy choice. Is there anything that could stop them from getting together after the show ends if she’s not initially picked? JMHO
February 11, 2010 at 1:39 pm #10396luckeyParticipanthaving seen Jake on the Bachelorette, I got hooked. There was a segment on Entertainment Tonight that said something about Jake ending up with Vienna, but that there are some skeletons in her closet. Of course, it was just a headline blurb with no detail, so who knows how much truth there is in any of it.
I liked Ali from the beginning. I was also thinking along the same lines as SW with regard to job security. She’s on her own in San Francisco and it can’t be cheap living there, so I’m not surprised by her choosing job over boyfriend. That phone call from her to Jake on the preview will probably be nothing more than a "hi, just wanted to see how you’re doing" kind of call. That just adds to the drama on the preview to get viewers to watch next week. It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if he picks Vienna. Then, because all of this has been taped several months ago, in real time we find out that he’s with Ali and they appear on GMA all happy and smiley. We’ll see soon.
February 11, 2010 at 10:45 pm #10443SWParticipantbut I had also heard that he picked her. If it’s true, I hope he wakes up before he marries her or maybe he’s not that great a guy to begin with? She has been using ‘sex’ to get him from what I’ve seen. I guess giving that she worked at Hooters, I shouldn’t be surprised. The tabloid stuff that I read was very disgusting if it’s true.
There was a rumor out there that was something like she had told him if it didn’t work out with the other women, he should give her a call after the final show. I could also see him about to pick Vienna and then Ali returns and he picks her. After seeing him with Gia’s brother and Vienna’s dad, I wouldn’t want to be in his place – not picking either of those two.
February 12, 2010 at 8:27 pm #10471Ms. JakeParticipantThat’s exactly what I told my husband after watching the show! If her job is important and she could loose it because of the time frame….I’d do the same thing. IF he really loves her….and he should kind of know pretty much by now…He would not pick another girl to give a ring to, he would find her after the show….He doesn’t HAVE to get engaged to one of them…..why should she loose her job and the guy? At least she’ll have one.
February 15, 2010 at 1:24 pm #10525SWParticipantand I suspect that Ali is the same way.
Vienna seems in it for her own reasons and I suspect she’s a lot like Sami (on Days) — she’ll do whatever she has to to win the prize (Jake in this case) but when she gets him, he either won’t be what she wants (not rich enough maybe? or different values?) or she won’t be what he thought she was and he’ll finally see what the other women saw! I don’t give that relationship much time after the final rose ceremony IF he gives her the rose.
From the interviews with Jake, it doesn’t appear that he is still with whoever he chose (if he chose one). My track record for picking who should be with the bachelor/bachelorette isn’t very good though! lol I seem to pick someone other than the final one each time except for Ryan and Trista. Hmm, wait, maybe I am better at choosing than the actual ones.
February 16, 2010 at 2:18 pm #10542caseyParticipantat the very end of the show Ali’s job would get in the way. It was down to final 3 when she left and how much longer to the end? I can’t believe it’d be more than a few days??
I mean what was the cutoff point for Ali where she could no longer afford to be away from her work? Did she not figure this out before she signed on?
And if the real reason is Vienna then why is Ali putting it on her job?
Jake can’t be all that bright about women. He should have been listening when her family spoke about how she always got what she wanted. And does he really want a wife who no one seems to like? No way can I see him marrying this girl.February 16, 2010 at 6:23 pm #10548SWParticipantat the end of last night’s show, Jake said something about "the week" he just spent with the final 3 being whatever…. So it was more than just a few days. Next week is meet the family and after that another few days with the final 2 before the last rose ceremony. I think there are more reasons for Ali bailing but if it was her job, I’m glad she chose the job over him as he seems to fall in and out of love with these girls (I can’t say women as several act like children so girls is the best I can give them) as fast as you fall in and out of bed! Love, give me a break!
If he ends up with Vienna, good luck to him as he’ll need it! Wait until he takes that first trip out of town without her…. hope his male friends are loyal to him more than her ex’s were!
February 17, 2010 at 2:22 pm #10575caseyParticipantI don’t get it – I can see being attracted to several people simultaneously, but this “love” thing really irks me. It appears to be a trend over the past few Bachelor/ettes where the person claims to be “falling in love” with more than one contestant.
And then Jake saying he was falling in love with Ali before she left and then a week later, oops, I’m not falling anymore.
The word love, real love has no meaning in today’s culture.
No wonder these folks can’t find a partner in the real world!
I like Tenly but IMO she’s still too recently divorced to be diving into marriage. She keeps refering to her marriage like she was the only person who was ever divorced and I believe she may have unrealisticly high expectations.
Vienna? No way it would last. She’s not for Jake.February 17, 2010 at 4:53 pm #10579BonbonParticipantis the ultimate goal supposed to be marriage or is it just for them to weed out all the others and end up with the person they are most interested in and think may have a possible future with. (Oops, ended with a preprosition…sorry!)
February 17, 2010 at 8:19 pm #10585SWParticipantengaged. ABC pays for an engagement ring that the bachelor picks out for the chosen woman. Most do end up engaged but break up after the show airs. One got married, one dumped his choice and picked the other he had sent home and I hear they are going to be given a wedding on ABC (paid for by ABC), some are still together but not married, and most have moved on to others -marrying them.
February 17, 2010 at 9:42 pm #1058753tdogsParticipantbut I saw the promo’s for it – the guy is smokin’ hot! – or whatever the "youngsters" say now. I thought the purpose of the show, (which is why I don’t watch), is for their 15 minutes of fame, not "true love". To me, anything with a commerical product endorsement can’t make the wedding bells ring forever…
February 17, 2010 at 11:21 pm #10591SWParticipantwants us to believe. I agree that some just want their 15 minutes (or more) of fame, others probably are on it to develop a future acting career but I didn’t think that was the original purpose.
February 27, 2010 at 1:48 am #10872maryanneParticipantIf Jake picks Vienna, all I can say is that I hope he is ready for a big break-up. I think her "15 min of fame" is what’s important to her, not Jake!
February 28, 2010 at 2:09 pm #10907SWParticipantunless it is wrong, she was and they are still together. I have to seriously wonder about his taste in women! He’s 31 or 32 and he’s choosing a 23 year old who isn’t even a mature 23 year old! I have to wonder how fast she’ll go through his assets, assuming he has money! I’m not sure there are many of the women that go on this show for romance rather than notoriety?
