In that one scene between Abby and Chad they said “Ben” 36 times. I had to go back and count because I couldn’t believe it. I guess it saved time on script writing. But I was ready to scream, “Shut the **** up, PLEASE!” That is probably what pushed him over the edge.
Speaking of which, I’m disappointed they are going down that road. If they prove insanity, he will never get the punishment he so sorely deserves. And I don’t think he was off his rocker when he killed all those people, Wendy, maybe, but not the rest of them. (BTW, speaking of Wendy, that was a pretty medically well-supplied office she had for only being a mid-wife.)
But, all-in-all, kudos to Ben for his acting. Good job.
December 8, 2015 at 4:03 pm #49973PattiParticipantbut I don’t think Ben is faking; I think he snapped completely. Thinking Abigail was the angel of death, talking very child-like reverting back to how his father abused and beat him, waiting for his mother to come home and stop Clyde from beating him with a belt. I think he has truly lost his mind now, but you could be right about him faking it, but I think everything from his past childhood, coupled with his obsession with Abby and realizing she loves Chad and not him, has finally caught up with him and his mind is truly off the rails. We’ll see how they play it, but I think today is the actor’s last day, so I’m thinking he goes off to jail, which is still too good for him ASFAC. Now, how long are we going to have to wait for them to find the baby? Poor little guy!
December 8, 2015 at 11:14 pm #49982justwonderingParticipantThe look on his face at the end of Tuesday’s show was really scary. Hard to tell if he cracked or he is just a psychopath!!
Glad the baby was found. How long before they discover he belongs to Chad?????
December 9, 2015 at 12:45 am #49988PattiParticipantI think what Ben has now is schizoprania, where one minute he’s that little boy, Ollie, reliving his life at the hands of the abuse he suffered from Clyde, plus Jordan leaving him and not telling him where she was until he found her; and the next minute he’s Ben Weston, who knows (or believes) he’s the baby’s father and is trying to tell Abigail that he would never hurt his son. His mind is so far gone that he will now pop in and out of his personality disorder between Ben and Ollie.
December 9, 2015 at 12:45 am #49989bradysgmaParticipantAbby stated that because the baby was premature he should be in a hospital and needed medical attention. Maybe, for some reason, they will need to get his blood type and find out he was not Ben’s. Love the name Colin, but where did Brady (or the writers) get the name Tate? It sounds like the name of an old man. Wasn’t that the name of the boss on Bewitched, Mr. Tate?
December 9, 2015 at 12:49 am #49991PattiParticipantat some point that this child is a DiMera, and then we’ll have a "whole new can of worms."
December 9, 2015 at 2:37 pm #49997TopazParticipantThe last scene with Ben, with the blanket around his shoulders and the evil look in his eyes, was straight out of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 masterpiece, "Psycho" (Tony Perkins as Norman Bates). Great job, writers.
December 9, 2015 at 5:19 pm #50003caseyParticipantI knew that scene reminded me of something and you nailed it.
December 9, 2015 at 11:10 pm #50006midwifemamaParticipantI think Theresa chose it because it was Melanie’s last name and Melanie had found him with Kristen.
December 10, 2015 at 2:51 am #50008powerpaw2ParticipantI’d like to give a standing ovation to Rob Wilson for his performance the past few weeks. Maybe they will bring him back at some point (when Ben is released from prison).
December 10, 2015 at 12:49 pm #50011mommytutuParticipantHe has not been let go from Days, thus we haven’t seen the last of him yet.
December 10, 2015 at 3:06 pm #50017BonbonParticipantwhole heartedly. What a performance he has delivered. Of course those nutzo cases are usually much easier to portray than the regular, run-of-the-mill lines they have to deliver the rest of the time. When you make those exciting, they you are definitely Emmy worthy.
December 10, 2015 at 3:42 pm #50023dvalParticipantwith all that crazy stuff..not over the top but simply menacing with those cold eyes, man he has certainly come a long way since his first appearances when I was not totally bowled over.
December 11, 2015 at 2:14 am #50028powerpaw2ParticipantThanks for the update mommytutu!
