I was in shock when I read he sided on Days Cafe. I’m going to have to be in a good place to watch. I’m also glad to know it didn’t drag out. I do not enjoy watching a death drag out. Reminds me too much of when my dad died and I don’t handle that to well. I guess I will need to mentally prepare for this episode.

I feel that there have been too many deaths lately. In an town where no one dies in years, we have endured more deaths in the last few months than forever. In my mind it diminshes the impact with each death. I fear this is not the end of them either.

To me this was way too rushed. If this was the paln, I think it would have been better to be sudeen and they found out later that he was sick. There still could have been the rekindling of Hope and Bo. It just seemed too rushed.

How sad! I really didn’t want PR to come back, but I’m glad we had real closure with the character of Bo Brady. I cried my eyes out. They made great use of old footage so that long time fans like myself could reconnect to the good old days of Days. It really sucked me in. I too appreciate that we only had 6 actors on this episode. I think that helped to focus the emotion on the main story of Bo dying. Had they mixed in Ben, Chad, Abigail, etc., I don’t think we would have been as invested in the story.

Bo’s demise was quick, but very powerful. Kudos to these writers who are giving a respectful nod to Day’s history. As sad as the show was, I really loved it. Steve and Kayla knocked it out of the park too. Great job writer, directors and actors!

exactly how I feel about Peter Reckell’s return.  At first I was avidly against it, and really enjoyed Daniel Cosgrove in the role of Aiden Jennings.  I thought Peter was being selfish and demanding and not really focusing on how this would affect Kristian Alfonso’s chance to move on as the other half of this 30-year love story.  Then, I read that Peter was only coming back to give Bo and Hope a proper closing, and that he would have to do it all in 2 months — right, 30 years wrapped up in 2 months work.  I thought to myself, who are they kidding?  Now, after watching what these wonderful writers and actors, and I mean from the headwriters to the breakdown writers, the script writers, the editors, directors, and to the actors themselves, and every power that be connected with Bo’s return, have now put my doubts to rest.  It was beautifully done, from the writing to the quick but dead-on (pun intended) finale of Bo dying in Hope’s arms, and it still has my head reeling today.  I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with a 2-month sl to give perhaps one of, if not THE, most popular super-couple of all time as far as soaps go, the closure that they, as well as their fans, so well deserved.

“returned from the dead” and met up with John on the dock to be the best all-time episode but I have to admit, this one has given it a run for its money. I think I’ll just consider them both the best ever and my most favorite of them all. It’ll be really a challenge to top this one…IF it’s even possible.

I thought that to myself yesterday too – funny you say that.

I was a kid for that pier scene but boy do I remember it – especially when his hand touched her face and she welped LOL…. EPIC writing!!!  And GREAT actors.

I balled like a baby watching Bo die.  There will never be another Bo for Hope – I liked Aiden but I wasn’t sold on them.  I did like him though and even though I’m sad for Daniel I’m okay with him being a casualty to be given closure on a great love story!  I mean what better love story on DOOL is there other than Bo and Hope?!?  I know I know – there’s a few but ya know…….  ;)

R.I.P. Bo Brady – and thanks to the writers for giving us closure vs. Bo never coming back or dying off screen.

what are the roles of a headwriter, breakdown writer and script writer?  Never heard of the latter two.

Headwriter is who comes up with the SL.  Breakdown does just that – breaks down the arc/timeline etc.  The script writer is what we finally see on screen.

Marlena’s return on the pier is THE forever chart topper for me – and I’m talking film AND tv!

The headwriter(s) actually design the long-term storylines and they map out or outline how and when the scenes are to be shot, or how the actual story unfolds on the screen.  The headwriter(s) has a staff of writers under him/her, and these are the associate writers who are responsible for things like the narrative, the script, the editing, etc., are performed by the headwriters’ staff.  Each writers takes their turn, depending on who they are writing for in the storyline.  The breakdown writers write the narrative script and the scriptwriter dialogues it.  There’s also the script editor, who controls making sure all the days are on track.  (Obviously this is where DOOL sometimes really fouls up).  It’s like an assembly line, and if you fail to meet your daily deadline, the whole show goes off-key, as obviously we have seen happen.  So when we complain about thigns like the show’s continuity,  blame the writing staff, not the headwriter(s).  LOL!  Also, we should all remember that, not always but usually, when old writers are fired, the new staff of writers or executive producers want to hire their own people.  That’s why every time a 13-week cycle ends there’s always the chance you might be let go.  Anyway, this is the way I’ve always understood it.  Maybe you should ask Jason47.  I’m like 2 of the 3 monkeys; I only know what I see and hear.
