I anticipate this being an incredibly sad SL. Aside from what anyone may feel about Peter Reckell’s actions offscreen, what stays with me is the Bope 30 plus year romance. To see it end with Bo dying – especially coupled with Hope’s recent Aiden devastation and just getting Bo back – this sounds like a drawn out tearjerker. The final chapter of Bo and Hope will mark the end of an era and of a great supercouple.

a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes.  Yes, it is going to be the final chapter and even though I’m sure they decided to write Bo’s death to bring closure to this magnificent iconic super-couple, it doesn’t make it any easier to watch it happen.  I don’t see how these writers will be able to write this and have me believe that Hope and her children, as well as the rest of Bo’s family and friends will somehow be able to survive Bo’s death, but surely it will be worth its weight in gold as far as soap opera deaths go.  I don’t ever recall anticipating watching anything like this in all my years of watching soaps.  Better run out this weekend and get a full case of Kleenex for this one, that’s for sure.

Salem’s hospital is the only one I’ve ever seen where you can walk in, go straight to a room and have testing begin without even being registered.

could survive Bo’s death. She has been so horribly traumatized by what has happened to her so far, I just can’t imagine throwing the death of the father of her children and the love of her life, soul mate on top of it. If they actually do kill Bo off, it will be very interesting to see how it affects Hope.

KA’s acting chops and I know it will be a stellar performance. I hope they do this true justice with some grueling scenes. Days just keep it coming!

when he saw Hope and Rafe sitting together at the hospital?  Almost like a lightbulb went off that he wants them to get together since he is going to die.

At the very least he knows Rafe will be there to watch over her. And possibly another foreshadowing that the Bo mantle will be carried over by Rafe? I get the feeling Days wants this pair to become a stable couple longterm.

There is NO long term stable coupon on a soap!!

and if he (Bo) didn’t know he was going to die, he would act upon it quite differently, I’m sure; however, since he knows his own fate, he has worked with Rafe himself, and he knows Rafe is a really good guy who will always be there for Hope, I think that scene yesterday with that slight smile from Bo indicated that approval….just not too soon, please writers.  I suspect Bo’s death will affect Hope very much in the way that Zach’s death did.  I love that Rafe will be there for her, but I see no instance where he’s being pushy about it in any way, shape or form.  She will need someone with a clear head, because the entire Brady family and all of Bo’s friends will in all liklihood be nearly as upset as Hope herself.  Rafe is respectful to all of the Bradys, especially Bo, and so far I really like the way the writers are handling this potentially new pairing for Hope……but down the road, of course…..

Wow, so now in addition to being the hero he now is choosing his replace, emt. I guess he doesn;t think she could decide for herself!!

Iknow I’m in the minority about this storyline, but I just can’t past the fact that Aiden’s character did a complete 180 and Hope looks like a fool over being so wrong about him and BO. I just think they could have written this story better by having Bo get back after the wedding, finding out he is dying and realizing that the HEROIC thing would be to stay out of Hope’s life and let her be happy with Aiden.

Instead, Hope gets to feel used, abused and foolish for not trusting Bo. Ironically in the end he will again leave her (abeit not by choice).

I don’t look at it as Bo choosing his replacement for Hope.  He knows Rafe, has worked with himi in the past, and knows Rafe will be there for Hope.  I didn’t take him telling Rafe "you love her" to mean anything more than loving her as a dear friend and Hope’s partner; of course, I think he has a sense that Rafe has feelings for Hope, but not those kind of feelings that Bo would have as her husband of some 30 years or so.  I think he knows Rafe will do exactly that, since he cares so much for Hope, and that’s exactly what Bo wants for Hope.  Don’t get me wrong, if Bo wasn’t sure he was dying, he would kick Rafe’s butt for drooling over his wife.  LOL!  I just really like the way Rafe has been trying to hide his feelings, but Bo picked up on them right away, and that’s why he is letting Rafe know what is going to happen to him….just so that he will be sure Rafe will be there for Hope.  I don’t think he believes Rafe and Hope will jump into Hope’s bed before the sheets are cold; just the opposite, and that Rafe will be a very concerned, caring, dear friend who will look after his wife when Bo is gone, even if he is a little lovesick about it.

I was really crying yesterday when Bo told Rafe that he’s dying.  I was surprised at my reaction that I was crying that much!  It just really hit me hard and Bo’s acting was so incredible that you could really feel his pain.  I think it was the background music as well that just added to the overwhelming emotions.  I didn’t even want Bo back and now that he is, he is really hitting it out of the park with this story line.   It looks as if today he will tell both his mother and Hope that he is dying.  Oh boy, this will be very hard to watch but incredible at the same time.

and said exactly what I was going through and thinking. I cried like crazy when Bo told Rafe he was dying. And when he admitted he knew Rafe loved hope and the look on Rafe’s face was priceless. Very touching, very emotional. I can’t believe how well this program is proceeding and wonder just how long they can keep it up.

I have read other posts where people feel like Bo is treating Hope like a possession, “giving” her to Rafe but that wasn’t the way I took it at all but just as you explained…letting someone he knows won’t let her down know what is going on so she will have someone to lean on when times are rough after his death. Serious tears running down my cheeks yesterday and I foresee it getting worse before it gets better. But bravo to all the actors for doing such a fine job with the storyline.
