I read spoilers for the 4th of July that say the festivities for the holiday will be spoiled due to rain, so the graduation gang and, I think, Melanie, decide to go the Pub to watch a movie (the Pub?????). WTH?????? Peter Reckell opened his mouth on Twitter and proceeded to stick his foot right in it. Now what we are going to see is a ANOTHER film noir, but with some of DOOL’s actual cast members portraying actual movie stars from actual movies. The two I saw in SOW were photos of Peter as John Wayne and Melanie as whoever she is supposed to be from the movie True Grit; then there’s one of Kristian A. dressed up like the black swan. So this is what Peter meant when he said "it will be something the likes of which the fans have never seen before." Uhhhh, Peter, no disrespect, but aside from the fact that you’re doing actual characters from actual movies, we did have the b&w film noir scenes with Sami, Nicole, E.J. Philip, etc., dressed in the style of the 40’s, and it was, if I remember correctly, somewhat entertaining, but Peter, I have to ask ……… WTF DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE 4TH OF JULY????????

June 28, 2011 at 5:13 pm #2484153tdogsParticipantin the back yard with fireworks, why not at least do a three second repeat clip of that – don’t even have to reshoot it, at least that way they’d be acknowledging the holiday…but alas, so many of the holidays we all treasure and love are bi-passed in the name of PC (production costs), or the other PC ( political correctness) on the show anymore.

June 29, 2011 at 4:10 pm #24853BonbonParticipanta July 4th celebration is because the show is pre-empted by Wimbledon. I mean, why have a celebration if you have to do it on a different day?
June 29, 2011 at 7:13 pm #2485953tdogsParticipanta rumor, I can’t recall.

Oops, never-mind, the 4th is Monday. It does look sort of funny though!
June 30, 2011 at 4:33 pm #24879IzzyBParticipantIt is always around 4th of July and always causes Days to not be on the air and in the past they have done shows with the picnics and fireworks. Heck, Christmas is on the weekends sometimes and Days does Christmas shows. I just think it is the poor writing of the old head writer that caused this.
June 30, 2011 at 4:36 pm #24880IzzyBParticipantBecause really the networks pay for a season, but they are not part of writing. They may say you can or can’t show this, but overall the writing and ideas come from the staff on the show. Lets face it, people these days want to get their views out there, so many writers put their views in their work. It happens. I have been watching Law and Order:SVU re-runs and wow, they tend to touch on a lot of controversial subjects, I was surprised.
If the owners of the networks fully controlled everything played, I doubt a conservative based owned network like fox would play simpsons or family guy – lol
July 2, 2011 at 7:29 am #24906PunkyParticipanton PVR and it is so painful. I understand that it’s nice to mix things up and try new things. This is just campy and includes bad wigs and accents. Not good.
