Man I cant wait til Bope and Sami and Rafe team up to help get the dimeras! I wonder if they will tell Abe? this is one SL i’m actually looking forward to. I really wish they hadnt fired Dario. you know Melanie will be thinking about what could have been even if her and Nathan get back together, (yawn).
June 14, 2011 at 6:15 pm #24525layseaParticipantI agree, I can’t wait to se Bo and Hope back in action. I think they will just keep it between them and Sami and Rafe. I have to disagree with you on Dario, I can’t stand that guy. He is a boring as watching paint dry, ready to see him leave! I would love to see Mel and Brady together, but I also like her with Nathan. I’m also ready for Taylor to leave, that SL is just plain stupid!LOL!

June 14, 2011 at 8:15 pm #24531dvalParticipantDario has been growing on me. I like him with Melanie. Brady just seems to old for Melanie, in my opinion at any rate.
And I am looking forward to Sami/Rafe and Bo/Hope teaming up. Should be fun.
June 15, 2011 at 11:56 am #24545IzzyBParticipantPhillip seemed too old and Brady is older than Phillip. To me their relationship at times is the big brother/little sis relationship. Mel has matured a lot over the years and I really like her character. I don’t think I want her with another kirakis. At times they do have chemistry, but other times not. It is a strange relationship.
June 15, 2011 at 12:59 pm #24546PattiParticipantand must admit, although I wasn’t crazy about him at first, I do like him a lot more now, and he’s so perfect for Melanie. He respects her and cares about her, but he doesn’t take any of her crap and will walk away from her at the drop of a hat, no matter how much he doesn’t want to. I know they say opposites attract, but he is very much like her in that he’s quick to judge without knowing the entire story. Mel’s exactly like that, and that’s exactly how she treated Dario when she first met him. Now that they seem to be resolving their differences are are starting to see the worthiness of the other and realize that they really are starting to care for one another, Dario is being written off. That’s a shame, because he is totally right for Melanie.
June 15, 2011 at 1:07 pm #24547PattiParticipantBo and Hope, together again and back on the job. I love that they are being written into the Rafe/Sami/Fafe story. It’s the best of the best of Bo and Hope as far as I’m concerned. I love that they are finally being shown how much they truly belong together in every way. Incidentally, I thought KA and PR looked absolutely gorgeous yesterday. She is a natural beauty, and Peter — well, what can I say, the man is still hot in every way. They both looked truly sexy in their bedroom scene, but I loved how excited Hope got when she jumped up and out of bed saying "I can be ready in 5 minutes," and Bo gives that sexy grin, like ‘here we go again.’ OMG I’ve been waiting so long for the Bo and Hope I truly love and it looks like they’re finally here.
June 15, 2011 at 4:40 pm #24553IzzyBParticipantUs fans are guilty of not giving a character enough time to develop. We complain about a new character and how we hate them with this person or that person and then we come to love them as their story develops. Sometimes Days does not listen to our complaints (which we hate at the time) like with Chelsea and Mel and we eventually don’t want to see them go. Other times when they are actually serious about listening to us they do listen and get rid of the character (Dario). Dario leaving is the fans fault because we were not patient and now some of us that are starting to like him can’t out vote the fans who never gave him a chance. So now he will be written off and we get Nathan back. I liked Nathan and Mel, but I am wondering with how much Mel has grown if Nathan is right for her anymore. We will see.
June 15, 2011 at 8:14 pm #24557dvalParticipantSo many of us fans are adamant about the "oldtimers" that we are unwilling to give newcomers any chance at all.
June 15, 2011 at 9:28 pm #24559IzzyBParticipantLets face it, if we just had the oldtimers we would have an aging cast that many would want to retire now. It just is not possible, the show has to bring new blood onto the show. Then our next argument is bring people in who have a familiar past like kids of characters no longer on the show (Nathan is a good example of this), but there are only so many of them and then there would be no room for pairing people up. We already complained about Max being with his cousins. Which really that is what you run into when the show brings on a bunch of children of past/current characters. So the show has to bring on new characters to be able to have multiple generations on the show at all time. I sometimes feel bad for Cordey, because he can’t win. Fans are going to complain no matter what he does. I think that is why he is so slow on reacting to fan reaction, because if he does, some other part of the fanbase won’t be happy. The happy fans never say they are happy, it is the unhappy fans that seak out internet sites to complain on. Many times I leave this board because it gets too negative for me and starts to sway my opinion of the show towards the negative and I don’t enjoy it as much. So it also spreads and sometimes even makes it worse trying to bring on a new cast member. I normally try to give a new character 2 to 3 months before trully forming an opinion, UNLESS the acting is so bad it is painful to watch.
June 16, 2011 at 11:01 am #24571BonbonParticipanton this site. I sometimes wonder if the posters ever stop to think that it would be impossible to have every episode exciting and up to their expected standards. How difficult it must be to try to write a show that will please everybody everyday. Impossible.
I have to say, I do my share of complaining on here but I can honestly say I NEVER ff anything and always watch the complete show. Yes, there are things/characters I don’t like but I feel you have to take the bad with the good and, all-in-all, I think there is way more good than bad. Otherwise I wouldn’t watch it.
One time on I site where I use to post regularly, we decided to post only positive posts for one whole week. It was very enlightening because people came up with some interesting stuff that many had never even thought about. Maybe we should try that here. I’m just saying…
June 16, 2011 at 11:37 am #24572KseeParticipantOh I agree 1000% with you Bonbon on this, I as well guilty as the rest for being negative, complaining and FF (just Kate stuff now) I think we should give only positive posting a try!
June 16, 2011 at 12:00 pm #24573SWParticipantis being driven by real life. Eric (Brady) and Galen (Rafe) are both in the same age bracket (40s) in real life while Sami is in her 30s and Melanie is in her 20s in real life. There is a point where the age factor isn’t a big deal but on this show where Melanie was just a teen not that long ago, it makes it more ‘awkward.’ That being said, there’s the problem on a soap of SORAS which also goes backwards at a certain point. Brady should be quite a bit younger than Sami and yet the show has an actor that is clearly older than Sami playing the role. EJ should be younger than Will but they have him old enough to be Will’s father now since they aged him. Philip by the end of his run (when he was with Melanie), seemed to have been ‘de-aged’ to around her age but with the same actor it wasn’t seeming that way, but he should have been Will’s age as they were born in the same year on screen. Creative license is wonderful but can certainly be confusing!
June 16, 2011 at 4:17 pm #24580IzzyBParticipantTo try positive posting for one week. It would be interesting to see what people come up with that others have not thought of.
I never really FF through scenes until recently and it has nothing to do with the show itself. I had preemie twins in December and was backed up with 46 episodes. So what I did was used the Days Cafe site in tandem with watching the show to catch up. The scenes I FF through because they were not as interesting I read about online. For some not as exciting shows I actually read the whole summary online. It allowed me to catch up without spending 30+ hours actually watching. Not to mention a daily show never stops, so as I was catching up more was taping. I still don’t always have 45 minutes in a day to sit down and watch days (still haven’t watched yesterday’s show), so I do sometimes fast forward through conversations that are repeats (how many times can Stephano or Nicole tell EJ to stay away from Taylor), but then I read what I FF through online.
Overall I like the show, it has been a part of my life since 88 when I was 13. I grew up watching it every day it was on. No matter what happens I will always find a way to watch it or keep up on it. So I am one of those fans that is going to stick it out through the good and bad times and has never even threatened to stop watching it. I am also a realistic person and understand it is a business and sometimes favorite characters have to leave for whatever reason. So I also don’t get as upset when a character leaves. I do have to admit that one character would really sadden me if she left and that is Sami. Mainly because I have grown up on her character. She started after I started watching and we are similar ages. But I still wouldn’t stop watching. I also don’t think they would get rid of her with the crossover to Biggest Loser.
June 16, 2011 at 9:28 pm #24603BonbonParticipantI know what you’re going through. My son and DIL had premies at 28 weeks. They weighed 2 lbs. 9 ozs. and 2 lbs.13 ozs. I don’t know how you have time to even watch one episode. BTW, those two little girls are now 21 years old, healthy and happy. Good luck with yours.
