I am nost sure when Bo leaves, but so far there doesn’t seem to be much fanfair about it. Melanie was in the limelight for some time in a front story prior to her dparting (on her terms). It is disappointing that Bo’s leaving so far as been a snippet here and there. Sure hope that it heats up before he is gone with the wind (being forced out because he wouldn’t take a huge paycut). Meanwhile, returning characters are coming on board- Kristen, NuEric, Chloe. Just doesn’t seem right.
September 27, 2012 at 1:52 pm #35654PattiParticipantbut I don’t know the exact date, and spoilers on his exit story are few and far between. It could be a low down dirty shame if they skimp over his departure as if Peter Reckell were nothing more but a recurring actor. I sort of think that his current story-line, Bo’s quitting the force because of a pay reduction, was sort of a slap in the face to Peter, but that’s JMO.

September 27, 2012 at 11:38 pm #35668luckeyParticipantwas asked to take a huge pay cut…I think I read that it was like 45%. He decided to walk away from Days. There are all kinds of rumors about this being a temporary thing, but it’s all talk at this point. He really is leaving.
September 28, 2012 at 1:45 am #35670justwonderingParticipantI am sorry if I spoiled anything for you, I thought it was general knowledge.
September 30, 2012 at 12:33 pm #35682Blondie-1ParticipantIt’s ok…
October 2, 2012 at 12:51 pm #35694BonbonParticipantif he leaves, does he have something else to do? With all the unemployed soap stars from so many cancelled shows out there, does he think he’s going to get on somewhere else? I hope he’s applying The First Wing-walker’s Rule…"Never let go of what you’ve got ’til you’ve got hold of something else."
I just can’t imagine the show without Bo. When John and Marlena left, they were both gone, but we’re going to have Hope still there. I can’t believe they’d kill Bo off. My DIL suggested maybe they’ll have him kidnapped. That way they can hold him as long as they want in case he ever decides to come back again.
October 6, 2012 at 3:27 am #35759caseyParticipantif you can call it that, that’s so bland. There’s no punch behind it and no sincerity or credibility about the reasoning. If it were just about the money, then why wouldn’t he get fired up about say, starting his own detective agency. This kind of namby pamby follow your dream pabble they’re giving us doesn’t seem like Bo. And I do not find it intriguing.
October 6, 2012 at 12:56 pm #35764PattiParticipantBo is just fed up with the work; that there’s only so much he can do as a detective, and it’s no longer enough for him. Seems to me it’s more of a mid-life crisis that he’s going through. What I’m having a hard time with is Hope’s constant ‘pushing’ him to leave a 20-year job with no idea of how they are going to make it work. It’s almost sounding like she wants him to go. I know that’s not the case, but it’s how it appears to me. I’m very perturbed at how Bo’s exit is being written. Peter has three weeks of air-time left. How are they going to justify a proper story line knowing that after that time the network, Corday Productions, SONY and the general audience will be saying goodbye to Beauregard Aloysius Brady with nothing more than a cake with his face on it. Beats me!!!
October 6, 2012 at 1:41 pm #35769BonbonParticipantand have a petty crook shoot him and kill him on his last day. Now THAT would be something we didn’t see coming.
Actually, I don’t see Bo as being fed up with the job. He said he’s loves being a detective but, from what he’s said lately, it wasn’t what he really wanted to do with his life. I can understand that. You find yourself in a line of work that just came by happenstance and then, after a while, you’ve got seniority and experience and don’t want to throw it all away. I don’t think there are a lot of people in this world who are actually working at their dream job. They may come to love what they’re doing but probably didn’t start out with that particular line of work in mind.
This pay cut has given him a chance to walk away and do something that really makes him happy. And I think that is what Hope has been pushing him toward.
October 6, 2012 at 7:58 pm #35775justwonderingParticipantIf he has 20 years in, he has a pension. Plus he should get credit for his years in the Merchant Marines so his pension would take care of the money aspect. As far as following his dream is is sailing cause he has already done that!!! Taking down Stefano? I dnot see how doing that gives him "more time with Ciera", cause he will be going away.
I find the SL to be lacking any substance or reality!!! I also think it is a slap at Peter for all his years on the show comparing the major SL they gave Melanie befor she left!!! Thereshould be something more believable like Claire or Shawn are lost somehow and he needs to go find them. Something that makes sense.
Sure hope that this improves quickly.
October 6, 2012 at 10:38 pm #35777caseyParticipantvery lackluster. For a longtime star of Days Peter deserves something super meaty. And we the viewers too!
