It’s opening night for the NFL with a potential great one – Packers/Seahawks. I’ll be kicking back with my collies and popcorn. Good luck to all fans for another sensational year!

between the Seahawks/Packers game and the Orioles/Reds game. O’s are leading 6-2 right now. Can’t wait for Sunday, though, for the Ravens/Bengals kickoff.

the league will have its hands full again with the Mmighty Hawks. They are a skilled, intimidating bunch and what’s scary is Russell Wilson could get even better.
PS: Patti, at least you had something to cheer about with the O’s win.

but I’m crying purple tears today. I knew that damn undefeated preseason was going to change, but it didn’t soften the blow any. Horrible first half for the Ravens, including Joe Flacco’s many problems. By the time we finally got Gary Kubiak’s west coast version of offense begin to gel, it was midway through the third quarter before we even attained a score; BUT, I’m hoping things improve …. actually, I’m sure they will. Lots of dropped balls yesterday, but they did pick it up late in the third quarter and even led for a while 16-15; then Dalton threw the bomb to Green and it was all over with the Bengals winning 23-16. Defense showed promise, so I’m looking for a better game on Thursday when we meet our true nemesis, the Steelers. Nice to see your Bills off to a good start casey. So, congrats to you and your team, anyway!

Thursday – Steelers and Ravens don’t exactly like each other. But Ravens have a bigger problem in Ray Rice. Slugging his fiancee and dumping her outside the elevator was barbaric. Why these women stay with such thugs is beyond me. Ala Chris Brown and Rhianna. “Oh, but I love him and he promised he’d never do it again!” Get a backbone, babes!
On the bright side my Bills’ win was a pleasant surprise – thanks Patti.

but, like everyone else, I don’t condone what Ray did; I am truly sorry that he had to be released from his contract with the Ravens, and that he will be suspended from the NFL indefinitely; however, that being said, he did what he did and it was wrong and like everything we do in life that we know is wrong, whether it be before or after the fact, we must realize that our actions have consequences, and Ray is now facing his, as he should be. In the meantime, I am going to still be backing the Ravens and hope they can get over their poor performance resulting in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-16, coupled with having to release Ray Rice and losing a very powerful member of their offense. Quite a bit for my team to take in all in a matter of 2 days, so I’m hoping they will be able to simply put it behind them and concentrate on football and getting back on track.

The multi-billionaire Pegulasjust bought the Buffalo Bills and the team will remain in the area. They already own the Buffalo Sabres and the fans are ecstatic.

so happy for you and Bills fans everywhere, but mostly for the team itself, since they now know they will remain in Buffalo. Great job!!!

wonder how the Rice issue will affect Ravens play? This should be a hard-hitting affair and will be pulling for your guys.

The Ravs looked like a well-oiled machine last night and I think the addition of Steve Smith will pay off handsomely. The “old” man still has it!

I must say I was somewhat skeptic we could pull it off. Between the Ray Rice never-ending story, coupled with playing Pittsburgh, I was hoping beyond all hope that we came to play, and that’s exactly what we did. Finally, I saw Joe Flacco as a true “leader” last night, and you are so right about Steve Smith, Sr. He may be the “old man” on the team, but he sure doesn’t play like it. Defense looked great, but even more proud of our offense last night; they created that wall for Joe to do his thing, and do his thing he did, indeed. A 26-6 victory over the Steelers was thrilling to watch, since we certainly could not afford to be 0-2, especially when both of those teams were teams in our division. So, thanks, casey. I’m sure our team was playing with conflicting thoughts between the two issues, collectively, but one would never have known it. My hopes once again skyrocketed for the Ravens this season.

On a sad note, I was truly flabbergasted to learn that our Orioels Chris Davis has been suspended for 25 games due to testing positive for amphetamines — which shocked me to my core. Of all the people in all of baseball, I would never have guessed this for Chris. Don’t know all of the details yet; however, he is out for 25 games, which includes the rest of our regular season, and a good part of post-season playoffs; but hopefully may be available to play in the World Series, if we make it that far. I’m hoping it’s all some sort of horrific mistake, but I have my doubts. Seems star athletes, especially, think they have a way to “mask” this stuff, but sooner or later, like the Ray Rice video, it all comes to the surface. I’m sure the Orioles must be as astounded as I am over this.

Now superstar Adrian Peterson implicated in using a switch to discipline his son. His other son died from abuse (though not from Adrian). Where are the mothers of these kids? I get livid over this!

though I must admit I was somewhat skeptical about today’s game. Defense did NOT look good. Although, I did predict a Ravens win by either 1 or 3 points, which is exactly what happened!!! 23-21 Ravens win …. thank you Justin! You can always be counted on to kick that winning field goal, if it comes right down to it for the win!!!

from those cardiac kids. I don’t know if my heart could take it. Unfortunately my Bills came back down to earth with a loss to the Chargers. They have a long ways to go yet.

your Ravs are rollin’! And Steve Smith looking more like a brilliant move every week. He did kind of throw it in the face of his old team during his postgame comments though.
As for my Bills, sigh, another game where the QB kept them back. Should have won. Don’t know if Manuel is the answer.
