since I was 19 and I’m in mid-fifties – always colored – so agree with you on the chemicals – I have even asked my hairdresser to color it a nice silver grey like they have on their color wheel – she won’t do it…so I weave it so grey isn’t so pronounced…guess maybe I should either do what Kate does ( 17 different colors as you said) or find another hairdresser…I just couldn’t stand the in-between phase while it grew out…that would drive me crazy – I see all these beautiful grey haired women on t.v. – look at Julie on the show – she looks wonderful – IF I could do that I wouldn’t mind at all!

Just wanted to comment on Julie’s grey hair.  I always thought it was so beautiful until yesterday when it was shown close-up when she was hugging Maggie.  She had an awfully lot of yellow in it.  I know people always make fun of blue-haired old ladies but I think Julie needs a blue rinse in her’s to get rid of that yellow.  If it’s done right, it doesn’t turn blue.  How many of you remember putting bluing in our wash to make the whites whiter?

That said, I’ve tried to let mine grow out several times but the grey is so ugly, I end up dying it again.  My mom had beautiful grey hair but, alas, I was not so lucky.  Now, it has begin falling out and where I used to have extremely thick hair, you can see my scalp.  The dermatologist says it hereditary (NOT from coloring).  So, in my vanity, I’ve started using Rogaine for Women.  He says it helps about 60% of women grow hair back.  The bad part is that it takes four months before it starts working.  Then IF IT DOES grow hair, you have to keep using it or it falls out again.  And it costs $40/month!!!

So, now you know all my dirty little secrets.  Don’t tell anybody, okay?

your dirty little secrets are safe with us.    I didn’t notice anything about Julie’s hair coloring.  I think sometimes it all depends on how the ‘color’ is set on each TV; mine is toned down so the colors are not so vivid.

Anything that makes you feel good and happy about yourself – I always rail at my genes – (you are correct – it is inherited – darn it!)  I think a lot of the actor’s on the show use hairpieces to make their hair look fuller and longer (and not just the men).  I heard that was the big rage in Hollywood hair to purchase hair pieces from India.  Sami has nice hair but darn that braid thing she did that started all of this discussion about our hair.  I do envy women with nice hair – it is a challenge especially as one gets a bit older…

If you’ll notice, Kate always wears a hairpiece on the back of her head.  Sometimes the color matches well but other times it’s very apparent that she’s wearing one.  Same with Stefano.  Sometimes his just screams ‘TOUPEE’ and other times it doesn’t look like he’s wearing one.  I’m not finding fault with it by any means.  I look at it as no different that fake fingernails.  If it makes you look good, go for it.

If my hair keeps falling out like it is, I may have to resort to one myself.  Although when I was through with my chemotherapy, I vowed I’d NEVER put another wig on my head again.  Oh well!  A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.

wig like Nicoles!    With you having had chemo babe – go for anything you like!  You deserve it!  I think Bo has a hair piece or two also – and we know that Roman does…maybe even EJ – his hair looked a bit thinner about a year or so ago.  I think a lot of the ladies too have those hair clippy on thingys to make their style appear thicker and fuller.  Kate with that BLUE hair side piece that has got to be a clippy on – I would think weaving that in would cost a lot of dollars every few weeks.
