It looks like we may be saying bye to Maxine. I see she has a new permanent role on Suits as Harvey’s new secretary. And she plays a similar personality. Very competent, sassy, has all the answers type. She really puts Harvey in his place. I’m going to love her there more than on Days, I think.
July 4, 2015 at 1:01 pm #47591mommytutuParticipantI was always hoping they’d give her a bigger role on Days. She always brings life to the show.
July 4, 2015 at 1:21 pm #47593justwonderingParticipantThat is great that she is getting a gig on night time TV. I look forward to seeing her on Suits
July 4, 2015 at 2:02 pm #47596PattiParticipantof characters who will be leaving to make way for all of the returns. I loved her at first, but lately all she has become is a cheerleader for Daniel and Jennifer, so I wish Aloma Wright the best in her new venture.
July 4, 2015 at 7:34 pm #47597justwonderingParticipantWell I sure hope that all these veterans will do a good job. I am skeptical of all these characters returning because in the past, whenever they return it doesn’t work out well.
July 5, 2015 at 1:34 pm #47600mommytutuParticipantFrom what I’ve seen in the past, they come for a while and then they leave. Are we cutting out staples of the show, who may have a possible story, so we can bring back a veteran who only plans to stay for a couple of months?
July 5, 2015 at 3:22 pm #47601PattiParticipantsome will be here for the 50th only, but the 50th anniversary celebration will be a 9-month long combination of sls beginning with the takeover by the new writers in mid-late August. I know that Steve Nichols, Peter Reckell, Martha Madison, Wally Kurth, Mary Beth Evans, Jason Lastovich (JL will be the SORASed Joey Johnson) and Thaao Penghlis (Tony/Andre) will all be on contract with even more additions as well as departures announced in September, but how long the individual returnees will stay with the show is anybody’s guess. The new stories will dictate that one, I suppose. Also, the latest to be released will be True O’Brien (Paige), and the two actors who play Daphne and Cole. I know Ali’s return is supposed to be a short arc, but I don’t know if that’s still the case or not. Still no word on her younger kids, though. Also, besides Joey Johnson, all the other kids on screen now will be SORASed, including Ciara, Chase andTheo, as well as Belle and Shawn D.’s daughter, Claire. They will all be the new teen scene crew and come back around the age of 16. All in all, big changes in DOOL coming with the new writers. My wish would have been for pink slips given to JL and KdP (Theresa and Eve), but I guess we can’t have everything. LOL! With all that being said, it’s the stories that count for me, so if the writing is good to great, I won’t mind who I’m watching, but huge promises have been made that DOOL is being completely revamped and the fans will not be disappointed. Guess we’ll have to be the judges of that though!!!
July 5, 2015 at 6:37 pm #47602TFlo1018ParticipantDo we need a SORAS Chase if Aiden is leaving? Take ur kid with you!!! Sorry to see Ciara aged – that little actress is amaze balls!!!
Please give Ali a juicy story so she can THINK about staying (not that her SL’s weren’t always juicy but ya know.)
I read that Maxine will be doing both roles though – not leaving.
July 5, 2015 at 7:11 pm #47603PattiParticipantbut "nice work if she can get it!" As for Chase, I don’t know what the plan is, but I read he will stay on after Aiden leaves. Don’t know why either. Maybe that will change. I would love to see Sami come back with an amazing sl that will convince her to stay, even though we are among the few who hope so. I know from Thaao’s tweets that she (Sami) will be involved with a sl with him, John and Marlena, and that I’m looking forward to. AS gets almost as bad a rap on the boards as does Shawn Christian. Hope they both have the last laugh!!! I know I would! LOL!
July 6, 2015 at 11:43 am #47606BonbonParticipantHarvey’s secretary is a big one. From what I saw of her first episode, if she is going to follow in Donna’s footsteps, she’s got some big shoes to fill and a lot of screen time to boot.
July 7, 2015 at 12:27 am #47610TFlo1018ParticipantI think people love Ali and Ali as Sami. I don’t think they are quick to admit it b/c she’s not a heroine. People sometimes have a hard time admitting they like the bitch/bad girl.
I dunno – people were DEVASTATED when she left. I think the main issue people had was all her screen time. But you’re like me Patti – I can do all Sami all the time LOL
July 7, 2015 at 11:20 am #47614BonbonParticipantAloma Wright is referred to as the actor from Scrubs. I didn’t know she was on that but I guess she had a much bigger part than she has on Days. At the last Soap Fan Day she said in an interview that her fantasy storyline for Maxine would be that Maggie gets very sick and Victor hires her to come and take care of her. While there, they (Victor and Maxine) can’t fight their attraction to each other and become involved in a heated affair. :o) She called him her Silver Fox.
It also referred to her romance with Abe. I don’t recall anything between them other than going to the Christmas thing at the hospital together. Did I miss something? BTW, in her publicity head-shot on IMDB, she is very attractive and has short hair. Would you believe she is 65?
Anyway, I didn’t read anything anywhere that she would continue her role on Days. I sure hope so.
July 7, 2015 at 12:27 pm #47616PattiParticipantbut there was little to NO romantic scenes between them. I agree about her looks. I’ve seen her publicity pics and AW is a very pretty woman. Wonder why they made her so drab on DOOL.
