Just saw at soapoperadigest.com that Natalia Livingston has been let go and is being replaced by Tamara Braun who played Ava. She starts taping today.

February 15, 2011 at 5:50 pm #20922bluebonnetParticipantwith the actress who first replaced Kirsten Storms. I guess the majority of the people didn’t respond well to Natalia. Tamara Braun seems older than Natalia and even older than Nicole. Oh well, I liked her as Ava–she sort of had an edge. I wonder if they will change the character’s personality along with the actress.
February 15, 2011 at 6:03 pm #20923luckeyParticipantit’s the character of Taylor. It also says, "they will be taking Taylor in a different direction". That makes me wonder if she won’t be so "goody-two-shoes" and will be more like the Ava character from the past. For me, that would be a more interesting character than the current demeanor of Taylor. Then, again, keeping in mind what Patti said in an earlier post about James Scott’s feelings about playing the dastardly EJ with no redeeming qualities; that makes me wonder exactly what they will be doing with the Taylor character and her relationship with EJ. I don’t put a lot of faith in the writers, but it could be very good viewing if written well. We’ll see.
February 15, 2011 at 6:14 pm #20925PurpleLady49ParticipantNatalia really looked the part, and, as an actress, one would think she could play whatever direction they want to take the character. I was not a big fan of Tamara, and don’t see her as an object of EJ’s love-at-first sight.
February 15, 2011 at 8:25 pm #20929SWParticipantguess I’ll wait and see.
February 15, 2011 at 9:05 pm #2093353tdogsParticipantwasn’t she the one who kept people with her goons in the room at her father mansion a few years back? And I liked the fact (even if I didn’t like EJ and Nicole broken up) that Taylor wasn’t like Nicole and was totally opposite of what EJ is. Taylor (1) if she’d mellowed EJ would have been just fine with me – that Ava chick was too tough looking and had a hard edge to her.
February 15, 2011 at 9:34 pm #20935PattiParticipantI can only conclude they were not happy with NL’s acting, because she certainly paired well as far as looking the part of Nicole’s sister. It certainly can’t be because the fans didn’t like her. After all, we all know they care nothing about what we think. I was hoping above all that she would have me second-guessing my hatred of the character of E.J. the way he is now by possibly humanizing him through Taylor. Guess the redemption of E.J. is not in their plans after all; however, I’ll keep my eyes glued now to James’ contract expiration, because I think if he isn’t satisfied, he’ll walk. In any event, I do like Tamara Braun and thought she did a good job portraying Ava Vitali, although I hated her with NuJohn. Boy, TPTB got rid of Natalia faster than they did the actress who originally came in as Ariana Hernandez, followed by Lindsay Hartley, who, by the way, is a huge success on AMC. Looks like Dorothy Gale was right …. "people come and go so quickly here."
February 16, 2011 at 12:33 pm #20943BonbonParticipantPlease don’t let this happen. Even though I’m not particularly fond of this Taylor, at least she’s bearable. I couldn’t stand the character of Ava and found the actress to be very annoying, very, very annoying. In fact, if I had to pick between Kate and Ava to go, I’d keep Kate, and I think everybody knows how much I dislike HER.
Besides, she’s 40 years old. That’s older than Nicole AND EJ. How in the world do they ever expect us to buy a relationship between her and EJ? Or how can they expect us to buy that she’s Nicole’s YOUNGER sister? Whoever made this decision should be tossed in the Salem River. Unbelievable, friggin’ unbelievable.
February 17, 2011 at 12:02 am #20958MoGirlParticipantShe looks like she belongs to Nicole and I like her. why start with someone and change the direction in a few weeks . DA
February 17, 2011 at 1:32 am #20960majencoParticipantI don’t like Taylor so far. Too breathy and goody goody. The woman who played Ava seems like quite a departure from this actress and the Taylor character in general unless they plan to soften her which I doubt. It will be more interesting but somewhat jarring for the character as we have come to know her.
February 17, 2011 at 2:29 am #2096553tdogsParticipantI don’t normally like new characters, so Taylor had to "grow" on me as I mentioned before – and she slowly was. I like EJ and Nicole together, I didn’t want them to break up already, but that’s what the Day’s writers seem to come up with as a story line all the time. So I was willing to watch. Now, I will just FF’d through…
I didn’t like the Ava character in 2008, and not just because she killed Grandpa Shawn, shot Hope, mussed up Steve and a whole lot of other things, I just didn’t care for the actress either – although, I am sure she is a lovely person in real life and a good actress. However. She is suppose to be younger than Nickey??? Ho-Ho-Ho! Call me Santa, I’ll be busy on Christmas Eve! (I don’t know what I meant by that other than it’s just not believable).
February 17, 2011 at 3:57 pm #20985mommytutuParticipantNot that I’m gung ho over the actress, but couldn’t they wait and see if she would grow on us. I like her with Theo, I can’t picture Tamara Braun pulling that off. And yes, she’s too darn old to play Taylor, Nicole’s "little" sister. They are smoking some mighty heavy duty stuff in casting if they think any of us will buy into it. If they wanted to change the character to less of a doormat all they had to do was ask the actress to do that. That’s what acting is, no one is playing themselves on the show.
Shame on them for being so short sighted. I think this will backfire. I still see Tamara as crazy Ava, so I’m not feeling the love for her as Taylor.
February 19, 2011 at 2:10 pm #21037PattiParticipantFebruary 19, 2011 at 10:04 pm #2105453tdogsParticipantthe actress now playing Taylor to take her character in a different direction – isn’t that what actresses are suppose to do? Now we have to get used to this new "Taylor", when we were’n’t use to the "old" one yet? GMAFriggin’B!
