John Martin, who recently played Bill Horton when the vets returned for Alice’s death and memorial service, has joined the cast.

This makes me very happy. I really was impressed with this actor and think there are a lot of ways his character returning to Salem can set up some very interesting storylines. Of course, right off the bat we can probably predict a triangle between Stefano, Kate and Dr. Bill. It was obvious that Bill Horton and Kate showed some pretty interesting chemistry. Then, there’s his definite interest in Maggie; and we can probably be certain that he’ll be joining Salem Hospital, perhaps as the new COS. Is Lexie still temporary COS? Who knows! In any case, I’m really, really happy to see this actor return. On the downside, I could live with Laura NOT returning. Aren’t they divorced now?
Do you think we got the tipoff when Bill told Maggie she was “stuck with him?” Or did Days decide to sign him due to popular feedback? (one could only hope!)
I’m not so sure though there will be a triangle w/Kate and Stef. Doubt Stef would stand for that.if he came between Kate and himself. I think ol’ Kate and Stef work well together, I don’t want to see that "weird" relationship torn apart. Maggie needs a new love interest and she is available…that would work out well. Victor, as much as I love him, well, he made his bed, (in hell), with Vivian so live with it Victor.
I wonder if he’ll live in the Horton house and they can keep that set going rather than take it down.
Bill and Laura are divorced, they just happened to arrive at Alices at the same time because they ran into each other at the airport. For not being married Laura was very posessive though and I don’t see her taking to kindly to a Bill/Maggie pairing so I hope she’s not coming back.
According to that post, it was an old one and referred to him "joining the cast" for the funeral. I don’t think it means currently.
The post is dated July 19th, and says "John Martin, who ‘RECENTLY PLAYED’ Bill Horton, is joining the cast….." so hopefully it does mean currently cast and not a previous post from Alice’s funeral.
Sorry, but I don’t want to get my hopes up for nothing. Soapcentral and soaps.com have nothing on this.
but I don’t know about the poster. I’ve been looking for the link he referred to but he claims he can’t find it now, so I’m going to keep the faith, I suggest we just keep our fingers crossed for now that the poster is as reputable as the site. As a matter of fact, I used to lurk on Soapzone quite a bit because they always seemed to be a little ahead of everyone else with their spoilers. All I can say for now is I hope it’s true, because John Martin would be a great addition to the cast.
