Anybody else watching it? I just got the last episode (missed it on Sunday so had to watch Friday night on CSNBC). I was very surprised to see Sharon Osborne break down and cry like she did. I always pictured her as a rough and tough rocker chick. I guess she’s human after all. I still don’t care much for her, she has such a filthy mouth that I would think she’d at least clean up for the show which, I think, is supposed to be somewhat of a family program.
I’m so strongly rooting for Bret Michaels. I didn’t know much about him before, other than that he was in Poison. But over the course of the show, I discovered what a very nice person he seems to be (other than his intense proclivity for chasing women!) and he’s truly a good leader, imaginative, and intelligent. I’m so hoping that he gets far enough past all the horrible medical problems that have been thrown at him and can appear on the final show. The only thing I can’t understand is why, since he’s such a severe diabetic, he has been show drinking champagne, beer, wine, etc. so frequently. That doesn’t make sense to me. Alcohol is an absolute no-no for diabetics. Anyway, I sure hope he wins, even though Holly is a worthy opponent. Anybody else with me?

I expected his creativity, but how he parlayed that into task victories given their short time frame was immensely impressive. I also can’t fathom the alcohol and you have to wonder how all those years of drinking affected his recent slew of medical conditions. But the guy is downright amazing and I’m sure he’ll be on the show tonight despite a serious appendectomy, brain hemorhage, a stroke and hole in his heart – all over the span of a few weeks.
I do think Holly has the upper hand in becoming the apprentice though. Her organizational skills should give her the win.May 23, 2010 at 1:25 pm #13091GoodyParticipantI am impressed by Bret Michaels. I guess that I was too quick to think he was less of a nice person after seeing little bits of Rock of Love. I hope he does well in the finals and certainly in his personal life.

I don’t know how much of it was on the sympathy vote because apparently he appeared at the finale against his doctor’s directions and you tell he was in pretty much pain. But, as he said after seeing Holly in that dress (and she DID look absolutely gorgeous), he’d take it any way he could get it.
Now, I just hope his health returns and he can live out a long a happy life. I was very impressed with Bret and probably in good company of those who never thought he’d last a week.
May 24, 2010 at 1:21 pm #13101caseyParticipantI was pulling for him and when the show started I had a strong feeling he would win. He played the game with integrity and grace and showed me another side of this rocker. Loved seeing the dynamic between him and his daughter Rain.
And how gracious in defeat was Holly. Kudos to her too. And they both get a boatload of money for their charities. Those were the real winners!May 24, 2010 at 2:03 pm #13106mama_freeParticipantI didn’t really know much about Bret Michaels before this show, but I really liked him once I saw him on Celebrity Apprentice. He was always kind and gracious to everyone. I am so glad that he won! I really liked his comment to Joan Rivers last week: "Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness." That seems to happen alot to people who are kind or soft spoken. People tend to think they can walk all over you because of that.
May 24, 2010 at 5:33 pm #1311353tdogsParticipanthip and happening (or whatever the kids are saying nowdays)…I’m not telling your age (but you’ve come out and said it here before) and you are just a very cool, hip lady! Knowing Bret was in "Poison" – I am impressed…most folks your age (and you are only 14 years away from me) would not know "Poison" – heck, neither would folks in my generation! Kudos to you for keeping up on keeping up!
May 25, 2010 at 11:31 am #13119BonbonParticipantI’ve always tried to keep up with "what’s happening" in the world. Believe it or not, when MTV first came on the air, I was an insatiable fan. I’m also a trivia fanatic so my poor little brain is filled with useless facts and information. I even tried out for Jeopardy. (The test questions they ask you are all $2000 ones and you have to get 80% right just to go to the next step!!!)
Anyway, thanks for the kind words.
