Yeah, I know that’s the concensus but I was just thinking. Carly is so grateful to finally have a relationship with her daughter she won’t do anything to jeopardize that or make her unhappy. SO, Chloe should just tell her that yes, she cheated on Daniel AND it was with Phillip. Carly is sure to keep Chloe’s secret in order to protect Melanie from getting hurt.
May 31, 2010 at 9:29 pm #1331353tdogsParticipantof Mel and Daniel…I would want to know. And know now instead of later. This kind of thing ALWAYS comes out anyway.
Their relationships won’t be the better because of a terrible secret kept hidden. Look at all the pressure that it’s putting on Phillip and Chole and their psyche already with all the "flashbacks" they are having and the guilt they are carrying.
The devastation that Mel and Daniel will feel initially, (and will feel for a long while), at being betrayed like this they will get over and move on. Either with their partners or without. However, to be played like a fool for months or even years, (if this is taken the way "Days" usually resolves conflict) will make them feel worse when they do eventually find out.
May 31, 2010 at 9:51 pm #13314DeeLanParticipantThey could go back to the "Old" Days and do this like Bill, Laura, Mickey and Mike. Daniel and Chloe get married, the baby’s born and only a couple of people know it’s really Phillips. Everyone stays quiet and happy until years from now the truth comes out. BUT for that to work they’ve got to quit cramming it down our throats every other scene.
May 31, 2010 at 10:19 pm #13312majencoParticipantI think Carly will want Melanie to know if Phillip is cheating on her with her dad’s fiance. She would consider it her "duty" to tell Melanie and Daniel.
May 31, 2010 at 10:54 pm #1331553tdogsParticipantanother "who’s the daddy" story…
June 1, 2010 at 12:21 am #13316DeeLanParticipantAs it was with Mickey, Laura and Bill. The viewers all knew Bill was really Mike’s son. It was just not a front burner storyline for years, just lurking in the background with a few characters in the know. Bill, Laura and Tom. Then when Mike was a teen the truth came out.
June 1, 2010 at 1:24 am #1331753tdogsParticipant(that story was before my time), and strung it out over a number of years – then OK – I’ll buy into that, however, in my "recent" memory of "whose the daddy" stories – the Will/Austin/Sami/Lucas, twins/Sami/EJ/Lucas, Carly/Mel/Daniel, Stefano/Hope/John/Bo, Patrick, and all the rest are just too repetitive.
June 1, 2010 at 1:53 am #13318DeeLanParticipantThar should read The viewers all knew Mike was really Bill’s son.
June 1, 2010 at 11:11 am #13319BonbonParticipantbut I don’t think they should tell anybody. It’s unfortunate that Carly and Nathan found out but I don’t see that it will do anybody any good to confess their indiscretion. Yeah, I know, the truth is supposed to be better but I can’t see what good could possibly come of telling Daniel and Melanie. They both will be horribly hurt, their trust in their partners will be destroyed, and Mel’s relationship with her future step-mother will be irrepairably damaged.
AFAIC, the guilt they are suffering from now is their punishment for betraying their loved ones and they should just have to live with that. I mean, really, someone tell me what the upside could be if Chloe (or Philip) comes clean. Since it only happened once, there was certainly no emotional involvement, and I believe it will never happen again, I can’t imagine any good coming from confessing. And, if it should come out in the future, it will be further in the past and that could make it a little easier to forgive.
I don’t believe it’s always the best policy to be painfully truthful. It’s kind of like when you tell your wife, no, those pants don’t make you look fat. But, that’s JMO. Feel free to disagree.
June 1, 2010 at 1:27 pm #13320caseyParticipantI found Carly’s intensity over this need to tattle particularly a turnoff yesterday. Yes, Chloe has an unsettling history w/men and she represents a shallow character. But who da heck is Doc Carly to be the moral police? She moved in and slept with a married man, making it worse for little Ciarra.
Now if Chloe and Phil were carrying on a hot and heavy affair, maybe a different story. But it’s up to those two to fess up or not fess up. Not Carly to take matters into her own hands.June 1, 2010 at 2:18 pm #13321GoodyParticipantCarly is a turnoff every day!!! I just can’t see that Carly has any right to question anyone else about their moral behavior. She cheated on her husband, later killed him, ran directly to Bo and moved in with him, and is living openly with him. Carly should straighten out her own life before she buts into anyone elses. Whatever happens between Chloe and Daniel, it is none of Carly’s business.
Sorry folks, I just don’t like Carly.

June 1, 2010 at 3:19 pm #13322mommytutuParticipantI was totally turned off by Carly. It sounded so hypocritical of her to tell Chloe she has to tell Daniel. Carly is the woman who cheated on Lawrence, had a baby from another man, which was the only way her husband figured out that she had cheated and she lied to the father of the baby. Then she appears in Salem and moves in on Bo, who’s still married and jumps into the sack the first opportunity she gets. Her character is getting to be more and more unlikeable for me.
June 1, 2010 at 4:01 pm #13323DeeLanParticipantAgree. It’s not like Carly and Daniel have any emotional history, just a one night stand 20 years ago. That doesn’t even make it a friendship so why is she so worried about him being hurt.
June 1, 2010 at 4:15 pm #13324DCola522Participantthat the truth will come out either AT Chloe & Daniel’s wedding, or right after! That would be in true Days fashion. She will be consumed with guilt right up until the wedding day and then Daniel will overhear her talking to Philip/Carly/Nathan. Sounds about right to me!
June 1, 2010 at 4:21 pm #13326PattiParticipantChloe is an idiot! She should tell Daniel herself exactly what happened, when, where, how, why and with whom she betrayed him. Get it out in the open and stop the insanity around her, which is only driving her more and more over the edge. She’s about to team up with someone who will put her in deeper than she already is, and if she can’t see this, then she will fail miserably, not only as a wife to Daniel, but to the most important person of all…herself. She’s doomed if she keeps trying to cover this up. Same for Phillip, IMO. Personally, I would want to know that my fiance cheated on me, very recently, I might add, with my daughter’s husband, but hey, that’s me. But, more on point, NO ONE, perhaps with the exception of Maggie Horton, has any right to condemn Chloe, Phillip, or even Stephanie (and I can’t stand that girl) without first taking a good look inside their own heart and soul. Talk about infidelity running rampant and those condemning the accused …. it’s the biggest joke on all message boards lately. The writers are getting sloppy again, and it sure is showing in these idiotic plots. And, while you’re at it, please take Saint Nicole out of my face … Bah … I’m getting sick of it all.
