I certainly hope they don’t go through with it. Rape is bad enough without have it happen to a young teen. And I hope that Chase comes to his senses before he actually does it. I’d rather see that than someone coming in to stop him.
A word about Theo. I think he does a great job in the role but I’m afraid the writers have begun writing him too “normal.” Although I don’t know many autistic teens, the ones I have met are much more affected than he is. I know there are different degrees of autism but anyone who didn’t know would never even suspect he is autistic. But I think they are doing this to include his “love interest” in Ciara which we would probably never see otherwise.

I feel that the actor playing Theo is doing a fantastic job of being socially awkward. He is quirky but high functioning.
As for Chase and Ciera, I am disappointed in the SL. Its seems like the Jennings family is cursed!!

Keeping it inside will only cause you to have a complete meltdown at some point. If you don’t want to tell Theo or any of your other friends, I can understand that; but, at least find someone you feel close to and let it out…. then again, whose lives aren’t messed on on this show right now? Maybe you should call Marlena or even Julie, who have both gone through it themselves. But don’t hide what Chase did to you! How about your grandpa, Roman? I would suggest Rafe, but he has his hands full with your mom’s problems right now. In any case, Chase needs to answer for what he did to you.

As to the rape…did he or didn’t he? We really don’t know if Chase actually raped her or not. I have a feeling the writers are just trying to make us THINK he did but it’s going to turn out he didn’t actually go through with it. I’m sure, to a young girl, even getting close could be just as (or very nearly as) traumatic. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what really transpired.
This may be TMI for some but when I was around 12 or 13 there was a boy in our neighborhood that would ambush me when I got off the bus after school and grab a hold of me, push me up against the house and rub himself up against me. He was bigger and stronger than me so I was too afraid to haul off and whack him but I just kept trying to push him away until he’d finally give up. (Thinking back on it now I just wonder if he only quit once he was “satisfied”. I didn’t know about those things back then.) This went on for two years. I never told anybody because I was too embarrassed and humiliated but my point is that, although it was far, far from being rape, it still bothers me to this day, 60+ years later.
February 19, 2016 at 4:19 pm #50892piewomanParticipant… of a 37 y/o autistic male…puberty and teenage years were thankfully free of "those" feelings. He went to a pretty good high school that kept him busy. When he started in the work force, he developed crushes on women who were kind to him, but he was talked to by HR and made to understand "appropriate" and "non-appropriate". He has several celebrity crushes that we don’t discourage, and even some male "crushes" on celebrities. He’s very modest and won’t even go to Hooters with us to eat because of the girls LOL. I’m thinking Theo is pretty right on with his attachment to Cierra – they’ve been lifelong friends and she was always sticking up for him, etc. The young actor is doing a lovely job of navigating that time in a boy’s life. I wish they’s show a little more symptoms, like OCD behavior and such.

February 20, 2016 at 3:48 pm #50899BonbonParticipantbut that was in the early 50s when nothing would have been done about it if I had told anybody.
February 20, 2016 at 7:23 pm #50900midwifemamaParticipantI worked in a big city pediatric ER in the late 60’s to the mid 80’s. The police were very rough and skeptical of even young victims into the mid 70’s. Then a group of women started doing workshops for the police. One policeman made the mistake of saying to a workshop leader "Hey, don’t women really fantasize about being raped? It couldn’t happen if they didn’t want it" They were standing at the catering table, and the woman grabbed a knife and brought it against his neck and said "F*** me, Mister" there was a pause and she said "were you thinking about anything but your own survival? Did you feel any desire?" We quickly saw an enormous change in police attitudes and treatment of rape victims.
February 21, 2016 at 3:45 pm #50901BonbonParticipantGood for her. It’s just too bad women had to go to such extremes to make their feelings be recognized.
