Here is some casting news from another site:
Joe Mascolo (Stefano) will be exiting from “DOOL.” Specifics have not been released.
Kristian Alfonso (Hope) has signed a new contract to stay with the show.
This sounds like to me that JM is gone and therefore really dead–at least for now…
For years this has been my biggest beef with Days and soaps in general, the dead coming back to life. I hope they just let Stefano remain dead. I don’t want the Phoenix to rise from the ashes again. Enough is enough.
and he is agreeing that Eileen Davidson is, indeed, returning to Days of Our Lives; however, the one unsettled question we had as to whether it will be Kristen or Susan …. ask no longer, because it will be BOTH. Now, I can’t wait. See

Also, About.com is confirming that Greg Vaugn (formerly Lucky Spencer from GH; formerly Diego from Y&R) has been hired as a recast for Jensen Eckles to portray Eric Brady.
Last air dates …. Christie Clark (Carrie) and Patrick Muldoon (Austin) is August 25th; Molly Burnett (Melanie) is August 27th; Ian Buchanan (end of August); as well as Matt Ashford (Jack) and Sara Joy Brown (Melanie), but no specific date reported.
"Days" when I did not like her character because of what she did in the SL – but Eileen is a great actress. I may even have to start watching the show again when she returns! Thanks for the info Patti!
