I just read an article on Soap Opera Weekly and Crystal Chappel was asked if the change in her hair color was to make it look more like Melanie’s. She said no, it ws to cover grey. The darker hair made the grey show up a lot on camera so she lightened the color so it wouldn’t be as noticeable.
January 5, 2011 at 2:46 am #19723ta143ParticipantIt’s too light and makes her hair look dried out.
January 5, 2011 at 2:57 am #19724majencoParticipantI liked it when she first started going lighter but now it’s too light for her skin tone. If you are not a natural blonde going too light tends to wash you out. I hear her about the gray coverage though. I went prematurely gray in my 20’s and coloring it is a bitch! I look best with dark hair but it’s hard to maintain.

I would have liked CC to go maybe one or two shades lighter than the dark hair she came in with, with maybe some darker blonde highlights or streaks, but not too shocking. She is very attractive, but squints her eyes much too much, and the new hairstyle and lighter color draws even more attention to it for me.

Coloring dark hair is a pain. I started going gray at 15 and now, 33 years later it is a monthly routine to color my very fast growing hair.
January 5, 2011 at 4:17 pm #19743BonbonParticipantI think it’s much more attractive on her than her own color and I don’t think it’s too light at all.
As for Chloe, I’d like to see her with just a few very sparce highlights, just enough to give it a little warmth.
January 5, 2011 at 9:11 pm #19750majencoParticipantOh yeah it sucks. On the upside I have experimented with every color under the sun so at least I know what looks best on me. It is expensive and time consuming though. Oh well, the price of vanity I suppose. At least I have my hair!
January 5, 2011 at 11:40 pm #1975953tdogsParticipantbrown, blond with low-lights, light brown, brown with red highlights, brown with grey (when I need to get my color redone), light brown with light highlights, auburn with lowlights, you name it, if it’s a somewhat natural color (Kate’s blue – no!) – I’ve been it!
January 5, 2011 at 11:45 pm #19762majencoParticipantThat’s why I always defended Kate’s streaks! I have tried some funky highlights in my day, red and even purple. I figure if I have to pay to get it colored I might as well have some fun.
January 5, 2011 at 11:59 pm #1976453tdogsParticipantbold and brash as Kate’s blue, but then I’m not the great looker that she is at her age, (we’re same age). I do love and admire Katies fashion and looks though – she’s a young, hip and fun-funky type grandma! I’m more of the bake-cookies-and-have-roast-chicken-for-Sunday-dinner-wear-a-hat-and-gloves-to-church-grandma-type. All though, I did use to ride on Harleys and do have a tat! But that was long, long ago in a galexy far, far away….
January 6, 2011 at 12:32 am #19766majencoParticipantYou sound like one cool chick! I have tats as well. I love Harley’s and I wish I could roast a chicken but I can’t cook at all. I like to bake cookies too though. I agree about Kate, I admire her funk and think that as long as she can pull off the looks, more power to her!
