Soap Opera Digest has learned that Bren Foster has been hired to play the new role of Quinn ("Fletcher" in the breakdowns). The actor, who was born in London and raised in Australia, adds another accent to the cast and will first air in scenes with Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) in early May.

looks like he’s another newcomer, I hope he’s a good actor, he’s cute. EJ is not going to be the only with an accent now. I guess Chloe is not going to be alone for long.
characters all the time? Develop the SL for the folks they have now and only introduce one or so newbies a year! So far this year we’ve got Jen’s kid, Taylor (x2), and this guy and this is only the begining of March for goodness sake!
Are the writer’s bored with our favorites? Grow Sami up! Grow Mel up! Get rid of Rafe.2 Don’t know what to do with Dan and Chloe anymore? Or since Nathan may be (?) gone awhile, do they feel that they have to fill a void? Jen just got back – get her involved with a new story. Hope is kinda just out there now in limbo now that she’s been freed. Lexie has been very nice to see on the screen more and she is a great actress – give her more of an involved story. Bring Anna back. Give Roman more of a SL. Maggie and Victor? Vivian???
I agree with you, I’d rather see the veteran characters than a whole bunch of newbies, but with these writers, they only bring on new characters and then make them someone’s long lost kid. (Like Melanie and Chad) Granted, Daniel didn’t come with any relatives, but they did make him Victor’s godson who Victor never mentioned before, and father of Melanie with Carly.
I bet if this character sticks around, he may be someone’s long lost relative or he may bring a relative of his own.
I like when they bring on new characters. It keeps the show fresh and allows them to go in new directions.
I understand there is incentive pay when new characters are brought on and the writers continue to get that whenever the character is used, forever. I think I read that DH (or JER, can’t remember which, is known for creating new characters and getting rid of old ones…just for that reason.
And he is suppose to resemble another Salemite. IMHO he looks like a cross between Rafe and Chad, but he is oh so cute! I hope he works out because he is definitely another bit of Salem eye candy.
resemblance to Rafe; especially through the brow, eyes and nose. How many Rafe look alikes are planned for this show anyway? Two are more than enough!

When I first saw this and heard about the accent for some reason I thought ISA. Wouldn’t it be great if Hope was hired by them. Then get Bo and/or Roman more involved or have Rafe 1 join the ISA to bring down the DiMera’s.
I’m surprised we don’t have a new character written in every week day Monday through Friday – with all the unemployed actors in Hollyweird and the economy the way it is ~ new character’s are one thing to move a story along sort of like Rafe with Sami safehouse SL started. I have no "investment" in these newbies – so I could care less if they get hit by a Salem outbound bus. And it seems to me a lot of our old favorites are on that bus – I want them to use our beloved characters more. Maybe, I am still holding (heck, no maybe, I am) holding a grudge against the PTB and writers that took my beloved John and Marlena away forever.

Does anybody read the comic, Luann? There’s an Aussie guy in it named…Quinn! I love the Aussies, they are so warm and friendly. I think I like him already. I wonder if his character will be from Australia also, I hope so.
